Honda Malaysia has announced a precautionary recall involving 87,490 vehicles to replace components related to the fuel pump system, ensuring continued safety and reliability for its customers.
The primary concern involves the fuel pump impeller, which may expand after prolonged exposure to fuel. This defect could potentially result in engine starting issues or unexpected stalling during operation. A total of 84,073 units across various models are affected, including the Jazz, City, Civic, Accord, BR-V, HR-V, CR-V, and Odyssey.

Additionally, 3,417 units of the Civic and CR-V are being recalled due to a risk associated with the high-pressure fuel pump. Extended usage and stress may lead to cracks in the component, which could result in fuel leakage or noticeable fuel odours during driving or while idling.
Honda Malaysia emphasized that none of the current models in production or on sale are impacted by this recall. The company remains committed to maintaining the highest safety standards and is extending this initiative to include vehicles even if they are no longer under warranty.

Affected vehicle owners will be contacted through official letters containing full details of the recall. Customers can also verify if their vehicle is included by using the HondaTouch mobile app, or by reaching out to Honda Malaysia’s Toll-Free line at 1-800-88-2020. Alternatively, information is available on the company’s official website at www.honda.com.my or productrecall.honda.com.my.
Owners are encouraged to schedule an appointment with an authorised Honda dealership to have the fuel pump components replaced, depending on parts availability. All repairs under this recall will be conducted free of charge, with all associated costs covered by Honda Malaysia.

As of now, there have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to these fuel pump issues in Malaysia. Honda Malaysia continues to monitor the situation closely and remains dedicated to proactive safety measures and transparent communication with its customers.
