SAIC Motor Malaysia has pulled the wraps off the all-new 2026 MG ZS at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, previewing its latest contender in the highly competitive B-segment SUV market.
Set to be offered in two variants — the MG ZS Hybrid+ and MG ZS Turbo — the hybrid model takes centre stage at the show, while the turbocharged version is slated for a later introduction.

According to SAIC Motor Malaysia Managing Director Emory Qi, the new MG ZS has been selected specifically to meet the evolving demands of Malaysian buyers, offering a choice of powertrains while maintaining the technology and practicality expected from a modern family SUV.
Visually, the new MG ZS adopts a sharper and more sophisticated design language, featuring Connected Hunter Eyes LED headlamps, a bold front fascia, aerodynamic body sculpting, LED taillights, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Measuring 4,430 mm long and 1,818 mm wide, MG claims the ZS is among the largest SUVs in its class. The spacious cabin offers improved headroom and legroom, along with a generous 443-litre boot that expands to 1,457 litres with the rear seats folded.
Inside, drivers are greeted by a 12.3-inch floating infotainment display paired with a fully digital instrument cluster, creating a modern and connected driving environment.

The headline act is undoubtedly the MG ZS Hybrid+, which combines a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 100kW electric motor and a 1.83kWh NCM battery pack.
The hybrid system delivers a combined output of 158kW and 465Nm of torque, channelled through a dedicated three-speed hybrid transmission.

Performance figures are equally impressive, with MG claiming a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 8.7 seconds. More importantly for daily users, the hybrid powertrain offers a driving range of up to 870km from a single 41-litre fuel tank, making it one of the most efficient long-distance options in the segment.
Safety is handled by MG PILOT, which bundles a suite of ADAS 2.5 driver assistance technologies. The SUV also comes with MG iSMART connectivity, allowing owners to remotely access and control selected vehicle functions through their smartphones.

The new MG ZS will be available in Red, Silver, Black and White, paired with an all-black interior theme. Final specifications and pricing will be announced during its official launch.
Customers who place an early booking during KLIMS 2026 with a refundable RM99 booking fee will receive a RM3,000 rebate as well as three years of complimentary maintenance.
IM6 Makes Malaysian Debut
Alongside the MG ZS, SAIC Motor Malaysia also used KLIMS 2026 to introduce Malaysian consumers to IM (Intelligence in Motion), the group’s premium luxury EV brand.

Making its local debut is the IM6, a fully electric D-segment SUV that showcases SAIC’s vision for next-generation intelligent mobility.
The IM6 measures 4,904 mm in length and 1,988 mm in width, offering a spacious premium cabin complete with a panoramic glass roof, plush leather-style seats and an extensive suite of smart technologies.

Power comes from a high-performance electric drivetrain producing up to 572kW and 802Nm of torque, while WLTP-rated driving range is quoted at up to 600km.
The introduction of the IM6 signals SAIC Motor Malaysia’s intention to move further into the premium EV space as demand for advanced electric vehicles continues to grow.

Visitors to the MG stand at KLIMS 2026 can also view the MG HS Hybrid+, MG QS, MGS5 EV and the Cyberster roadster, while test drives of the MG ZS Hybrid+ and MGS5 EV are available throughout the event.
