Chery Malaysia has officially opened the order books for its highly anticipated flagship, the Chery Tiggo 9. Positioned above the Tiggo 8 Pro, this new addition aims to redefine the brand’s premium offerings with a blend of high-output performance and a sanctuary-like interior.
There will only be one variant now which is priced at an estimated RM189,000. The Tiggo 9 will also come with a 7-year warranty for the vehicle and also the engine. Early bird launch promotion will be announced when it is launched very soon.
Under the hood, the Tiggo 9 is powered by a 2.0L TGDi turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 256 PS and a stout 390 Nm of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) and an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system.
Drivers can toggle between seven distinct drive modes—Eco, Normal, Sport, Sand, Mud, Snow, and Off-Road—ensuring the SUV is as capable on a weekend trail as it is on the federal highway.
The cabin is where the Tiggo 9 truly seeks to impress. The dashboard is dominated by a 15.6-inch infotainment headunit paired with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a HD Head-Up Display (HUD). Audiophiles will appreciate the 14-speaker Sony Premium Audio system.
Luxury creature comforts include:
- Massage Seats: Front seats feature massage, ventilation, and heating functions.
- A “Boss Switch” for the front passenger seat and ventilated/heated second-row seats.
- Dual-zone automatic air conditioning with N95 cabin filtration and dedicated rear air-conditioning controls.
- Double-glazed acoustic glass for a quieter cabin experience.
Safety remains a priority with 10 SRS airbags and a comprehensive Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) suite.

Measuring 4,810mm in length with a 2,800mm wheelbase, the Tiggo 9 offers a generous boot capacity ranging from 448L to 2,065L with seats folded. At launch, the Tiggo 9 will be available in two sophisticated shades: Matte Grey and Carbon Black.
