The all-new Proton Saga has recorded 10,000 bookings within five days of order-taking, which began on 10 November. This translates to an average of 2,000 bookings per day, reflecting strong market confidence in the model ahead of its official launch.
Deputy CEO of Proton, Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa, said the response highlights the Saga’s continued relevance in Malaysia’s compact sedan segment. “We are grateful for the trust shown by Malaysian customers. Our team in Tanjong Malim is ramping up production to ensure deliveries can begin immediately after the launch,” he said.
Built on Proton’s new Advanced Modular Architecture (AMA), the All-New Saga marks a step forward for the brand’s locally led engineering and development efforts. The sedan is powered by the new 1.5-litre i-GT engine paired with a fuel-efficient CVT.
Key upgrades include:
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with nine safety functions
- Six airbags
- 16-inch integrated dual-screen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Refreshed exterior and interior design, featuring updated styling and new detailing inspired by local motifs
Indicative pricing ranges from RM40,000 to RM50,000, positioning the new Saga as one of the most value-focused options in its class.
To build on the momentum, Proton is bringing the All-New Saga to several popular food and lifestyle locations through the “IKONIK TOGETHER-GATHER” roadshow. After stops in Kuala Lumpur and Johor, the series continues in Penang and Kuantan from 21 to 23 November, allowing the public to view the car before launch.
