Perodua has reduced the price of its popular Axia compact car by up to RM4,700, with the entry-level variant now available from RM33,900, as the national carmaker passes operational savings directly to customers.
Effective immediately, the revised pricing applies to all four Axia variants in Peninsular and East Malaysia, with the biggest reduction offered on the Axia 1.0G.
In Peninsular Malaysia, the Axia 1.0G now retails at RM33,900, down from RM38,600 previously. The Axia 1.0X sees a reduction of RM1,500, bringing its price down to RM38,500, while the Axia 1.0SE is now priced at RM43,000 after a RM1,000 reduction. The range-topping Axia 1.0AV receives a RM500 price cut, with a new price of RM49,000.
For East Malaysia, the Axia 1.0G is now priced at RM35,900, while the Axia 1.0X, Axia 1.0SE and Axia 1.0AV are priced at RM40,500, RM45,000 and RM51,000 respectively.
All prices exclude insurance costs.
Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the price revision reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency while easing cost pressures faced by Malaysians.
“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,” he said.
The company added that the savings were achieved through continuous improvements in operational processes, together with close collaboration with local suppliers and industry partners. Despite the price reduction, all Axia variants continue to maintain the same specifications, features and quality standards.
Introduced as Malaysia’s most affordable compact car, the Perodua Axia has long been a popular choice among first-time car buyers, young drivers and families looking for practical and economical transportation.
The current-generation Axia was launched in 2023 and is based on Perodua’s Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) platform. It is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine paired with a Dual Mode Continuously Variable Transmission (D-CVT), offering improved fuel efficiency and smoother performance.
Depending on variant, the Axia comes equipped with features including LED headlamps, a 7-inch digital meter, touchscreen infotainment system, Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) driver assistance features, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), and up to six airbags on higher variants.
With its combination of affordability, practicality and low running costs, the Axia remains one of Malaysia’s best-selling vehicles and continues to play an important role as the nation’s people mover.
