Kia Brings K4 and EV4 to KLIMS 2026 – K4 Most likely to be Launched here

KIA

Kia Sales Malaysia is using the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 as a platform to showcase what the future of the brand could look like in Malaysia, with three key models taking centre stage – the all-new Kia K4 sedan and the Kia EV4 electric fastback.

While all three models represent different aspects of Kia’s global product strategy, it is the Kia K4 that is likely to attract the most attention from Malaysian buyers. Making its first local appearance, the sleek sedan could potentially emerge as a new challenger in the highly competitive C-segment market currently dominated by models such as the Honda Civic.

Kia K4 Makes Malaysian Debut

Shown in sporty GT-Line guise, the new Kia K4 introduces the brand’s latest design language, featuring sharp styling, a low-slung profile, and a more premium appearance than its predecessor.

Under the bonnet is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 193 PS and 265 Nm of torque, giving the K4 performance figures that place it squarely in contention with established rivals in the segment.

The sedan rides on a suspension setup comprising MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link rear arrangement, while 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/40 tyres further enhance its sporty credentials.

Inside, the cabin adopts a modern, technology-focused layout centred around Kia’s panoramic display system. Drivers are greeted by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, complemented by a dedicated 5-inch climate control display.

Other notable features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and a 60:40 split-folding rear bench.

Although Kia Sales Malaysia has yet to confirm any launch plans, the K4 appears to be one of the most market-ready models on display and could prove to be a compelling alternative to the Honda Civic should it eventually arrive here.

Kia EV4 Showcases Next-Generation Electric Mobility

Also making its local appearance is the Kia EV4, an all-electric model built on the company’s E-GMP architecture.

Powered by a front-mounted electric motor producing 150 kW and 283 Nm of torque, the EV4 is capable of travelling up to 612 km on the WLTP cycle when equipped with its larger 81.4-kWh battery pack.

The EV4 supports ultra-fast DC charging, allowing the battery to be replenished from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 29 minutes when connected to a 350-kW charger.

Like many of Kia’s latest EVs, the EV4 also comes equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing owners to power external devices directly from the vehicle.

Its futuristic styling, extensive driving range and advanced connectivity technologies position the EV4 as a potential contender in the growing premium EV segment.

While the EV4 showcases Kia’s ambitions in the electrification and mobility sectors, the K4 arguably feels the most relevant to Malaysian buyers today.

With its attractive design, strong performance figures, and extensive technology package, the K4 has the potential to become a serious contender in the C-segment sedan category should Kia decide to introduce it locally.
