Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has previewed the all-new Nissan X-Trail e-Power e-4ORCE at KLIMS 2026, giving Malaysians a first look at what will become the brand’s flagship electrified SUV when it arrives later this year.
Scheduled for a local launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, the T33-generation X-Trail will be Nissan’s third e-Power model in Malaysia, joining the recently introduced Kicks e-Power and Serena e-Power.

However, unlike its front-wheel-drive siblings, the X-Trail introduces Nissan’s advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system, bringing an additional layer of performance, control and capability.
At the heart of the X-Trail is Nissan’s unique e-Power technology, which differs from conventional hybrid systems. Instead of driving the wheels directly, the turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder VC-Turbo petrol engine functions solely as a generator, continuously charging a small lithium-ion battery. Vehicle propulsion is handled entirely by electric motors, delivering an EV-like driving experience without the need for external charging.

The e-4ORCE variant takes things a step further by employing two electric motors, one on each axle. The front motor produces 204 PS and 330 Nm of torque, while the rear motor contributes 136 PS and 195 Nm. Combined system output stands at 213 PS and up to 525 Nm of torque, making the X-Trail one of the most powerful electrified SUVs in its class.
According to Nissan, the e-4ORCE system is capable of independently controlling torque delivery and braking force at all four wheels in real time.

Unlike traditional mechanical all-wheel-drive systems, the electric setup can react almost instantaneously to changing road conditions, improving traction, cornering stability and overall ride comfort.
The system also helps minimise pitch and body movement during acceleration and deceleration, contributing to a smoother driving experience.

Performance is equally impressive. Overseas specifications indicate a 0-100 km/h sprint time of around seven seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at approximately 6.2 to 6.6 litres per 100 km despite the SUV’s all-wheel-drive configuration.
While ETCM has yet to reveal the final Malaysian specifications, the previewed model hints at a significant upgrade over the outgoing X-Trail. International versions are available with premium features such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, head-up display, panoramic glass roof, Bose audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Nissan’s latest suite of driver assistance systems.

With demand for electrified SUVs continuing to grow in Malaysia, the arrival of the X-Trail e-Power e-4ORCE will give Nissan a strong contender in the increasingly competitive hybrid SUV segment. More details, including pricing and local specifications, are expected closer to its Q4 2026 launch.
