BYD Sime Motors has launched the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance in Malaysia at RM149,800, with only 69 units allocated for the local market.
The new Performance variant sits above the existing Ultra and Premium models, bringing a significantly more powerful all-wheel-drive powertrain, quicker acceleration and several additional features.
With a combined output of 330kW and 560Nm, the ATTO 3 Performance is currently the most powerful version of the electric SUV. It can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.0 seconds.
For comparison, the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 range is now priced as follows:
- ATTO 3 Ultra – RM125,800
- ATTO 3 Premium – RM138,800
- ATTO 3 Performance – RM149,800
The Performance variant is being introduced as a limited edition to mark Malaysia’s 69th Merdeka celebrations, hence the allocation of just 69 units.
More power and all-wheel drive
The biggest change is under the skin. The ATTO 3 Performance uses a high-output electric powertrain with all-wheel drive, producing 330kW and 560Nm.
This gives it a substantial performance upgrade over the rest of the ATTO 3 range, with the 4.0-second 0–100km/h sprint putting it firmly into performance-oriented EV territory.
Despite the extra performance, BYD has retained the ATTO 3’s everyday SUV practicality. The Performance variant gets the same 74.88kWh Blade Battery, while DC fast charging is supported at up to 220kW.
Its claimed driving range is 530km based on the NEDC cycle.
More equipment than the regular ATTO 3
The Performance variant also adds several equipment upgrades. One of the notable additions is a Windscreen Head-Up Display (W-HUD), while the ATTO 3 gets a vehicle refrigerator for the first time. The refrigerator supports both cooling and heating functions.
The car also carries over the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems from the Premium variant, including Intelligent Speed Limit Control (ISLC), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA) and Front Cross Traffic Brake (FCTB).
The result is an ATTO 3 that combines the existing model’s practicality and comfort with considerably stronger performance.
ATTO 3 range completed
The Performance joins the Ultra and Premium variants introduced earlier this year, giving Malaysian buyers three distinct versions of the 2026 ATTO 3.
The Ultra remains the entry point at RM125,800, while the Premium costs RM138,800 and offers a balance between range and performance.
The new Performance, meanwhile, is aimed at buyers who want significantly more power and all-wheel-drive traction without moving away from the ATTO 3’s everyday usability.
The Premium is available in Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black and the new Gemilang Blue, while the Ultra and Performance are offered in Ski White, Atlantis Grey, Harbour Grey and Cosmos Black.
Launch package worth up to RM10,000
Customers buying the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance can also choose between two launch packages.
Option A comes with a wall charger and standard installation, plus an overtrade package worth up to RM6,000.
Option B offers a six-year standard service package, together with overtrade worth up to RM5,000.
The new ATTO 3 Performance is available for viewing and booking at authorised BYD showrooms from today. BYD is also holding a showroom event from 11 to 13 September, where customers can view the new model and place bookings.
Warranty and ownership package
The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Performance comes with a six-year/150,000km vehicle warranty, while the high-voltage Blade Battery and drive unit are covered for eight years/160,000km.
Each vehicle also comes with a V2L adapter and a Type 2 charging cable with a three-pin plug.
BYD Sime Motors said more than 13,000 ATTO 3 units are already on Malaysian roads. The company currently operates 44 sales and marketing outlets, 28 service centres and 12 body and paint facilities nationwide.
