Under the hood of the new Navara Pro-4X is the same YD25 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine as before, producing 190 PS and 450 Nm of torque. Paired to the engine is a 7-speed automatic gearbox with manual mode.
Further complementing the powertrain package are features like the new Electronic Locking Rear Differential system, new rear multilink suspension with dual-rate coil springs, the new Tailgate Assist feature, new Integrated Rear Bumper Step, new Trailer Sway Assist system, and a new Utili-Track Channel system with 2 channels and 4 heavy duty forged aluminium cleats that enable owners to easily secure objects on the bed. Speaking of payload, the new Navara Pro-4X now comes with an increased payload capacity of up to 1,100 kg.
All set to make its Malaysian debut on the 16th of April 2021, , the new Navara Pro-4X is available in four interesting exterior colours – Stealth Grey, Burning Red, Pearl White, and Black Star. According to Nissan, all the colours except Black Star are new for the Navara.
Marking the rise of a new dawn in Nissan electric vehicle design, Nissan has unveiled a brand new palette of ten exterior colours for the Ariya electric SUV.
With four monotone and six two-tone options, the paint portfolio was crafted to elevate the Ariya’s premium look and feel. Best of all, Nissan said that the new paint will be applied by a highly advanced, environmentally sustainable paint production technology that reduces carbon dioxide output by 25% – substantially reducing the environmental impact of this zero-emissions vehicle.
“The ingenuity the Nissan Ariya represents inspired us to adopt an entirely new mindset for colour design,” said Lesley Busby, Colour Manager at Nissan Design Europe.
“The Ariya is the culmination of Nissan’s electric mobility expertise and a strong statement of intent for the future of EV design. We therefore worked hard to introduce a truly futuristic and technology-driven design language for the colours, analysing them in detail to create the perfect match for Ariya’s innovative personality,” Lesley Busby continued.
Inspired by the Japanese phrase for ‘dawn’, Akatsuki Copper‘s striking appearance mimics the brilliance of a sunrise, reflecting the beginning of Nissan’s new brand identity. Its metallic sparkle is enhanced to evoke the conductivity of copper wires, honouring the model’s advanced EV technology.
Our favourite colour…
Aurora Green takes its name from the beautiful ‘Northern Lights’ phenomenon, aurora borealis, commonly seen in the arctic. A sophisticated blend of different tones means the colour may appear green or purple depending on the angle that it is viewed, creating a sense of wonder and intrigue.
At the heart of Pearl Black is an all-new pigment, developed to elevate the depth of the paint and to create a rich, captivating appearance.
Highly advanced production techniques were employed to achieve a complex, clean and crisp composition with Pearl White, which offers more brilliance and clarity than ever before on a Nissan vehicle. The two-tone appearance is complete with a contrasting rich black roof, using the all-new pigment to achieve an unprecedented level of depth.
White is compulsory
Lesley Busby commented: “We know that black and white colours are some of the most popular options with vehicle owners in Europe and around the world. With Ariya, we have introduced a new level of richness and a premium veneer for these customer favourites. Combined with the quality and attention to detail seen throughout the colour palette, we’re excited for customers to experience Nissan’s new era of colour design for themselves.”
Technological innovation has also been employed to enhance the sustainability of the paint production line. Nissan has introduced a water-based paint which allows colours to be applied at a lower temperature, ensuring that each part of the vehicle can be painted together. This streamlines the entire application process, reducing carbon dioxide output by 25%.
Will the Ariya come to Malaysia?
That being said, we still have no idea if the Nissan Ariya would ever make its way to Malaysia. First unveiled in concept form at the 2019 Tokyo International Motor Show, the Ariya is the most technologically advanced Nissan vehicle to date, with the ProPILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance system and the ProPILOT Remote Park and e-Pedal features.
Also standard across the Ariya lineup is Nissan’s Safety Shield system. This includes Intelligent Around View Monitor, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Emergency Braking and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking technology. The Ariya is expected to go on sale in Japan and other markets around the world later this year.
Nissan today announced that it will be launching its newest “technology-rich” compact SUV in Indonesia very soon.
A teaser image of the compact SUV, showing nothing more than the headlights and daytime running lights, was shared on the brand’s official social media pages in Indonesia.
Although the name of the compact SUV is yet to be revealed, the lights clearly indicate that it is the Nissan Magnite B-segment SUV which just made its global debut in India in October.
Besides that, some of you may remember that Nissan also referred to the Magnite as a “technology-rich” SUV in India when it was revealed.
Sharing the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Tiber, the Nissan Magnite, which is expected to be launched in various markets from January 2021 onwards, measures less than 4 metres long, meaning that it will be smaller than the Nissan Kicks that is expected to be launched in Malaysia next year.
Plus, the Magnite is also being referred to as a global model by Nissan, which means that it could still find its way to Malaysia, but nothing is confirmed for now.
On the exterior, the Magnite comes with all-LED front light package which includes the noticeable L-shaped daytime running lights that sit below the stylish slim LED headlamp, as well as an edgy grille featuring Nissan’s new brand logo.
On the inside, the Nissan Magnite promises to offer a high seating position and wide shoulder space between the driver and front passenger. Nissan says that rear passengers will get to enjoy a level of knee room that is usually found in vehicles one class above.
An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto joins the first-in-class 7-inch thin-film-transistor instrument screen.
Powering the Nissan Magnite is an all-new, 1.0-liter turbocharged engine and probably a CVT which sends power to the front wheels. Complementing the powertrain are features like the 205 mm ground clearance, Hill Start Assist, silver front and rear bumper skid plates, functional roof rails, as well as Nissan’s 360-degree Around View Monitor.
The 2020 Nissan Almera Turbo was without a doubt, one of the most anticipated car launches of the year simply because it is leaps and bounds ahead of the outgoing model, but is it safe?
Not only does it look handsome, but it is fuel efficient, spacious, practical, and technologically advanced as well. Speaking of technology, Nissan has paid extra attention to two areas in particular – safety and driver assistance.
So, in case you’re wondering if the new Nissan Almera is a safe car, let’s look at what it has to offer.
Standard on all three Nissan Almera Turbo variants are the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW) and Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking (IFEB) systems. The Intelligent Forward Collision Warning monitors vehicle distance and speed between 5km/h to 80km/h, and alerts driver when the vehicle is too close to a vehicle ahead or a risk from frontal collision by flashing a warning with audible alert on the 7-inch Advance Drive Assist Display (ADAD).
If the driver does not take any action, the Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking system will indicate an emergency stop sign and automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a frontal collision or lessen the severity of an impact. The vehicle will remain at a standstill for approximately 2 seconds before the brakes are released.
Other safety technologies available on the all-new Nissan Almera Turbo are the Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) systems. At a driving speed approximately 32km/h and above, the Blind Spot Warning system helps keep an eye on blind spot areas at approximately 3 meters x 3 meters via radar sensors at the rear bumper, and alerts the driver of other vehicles in adjacent lanes when changing lanes.
If the radar sensors detect a vehicle in the detection zone or blind spot area when the turn signal is activated, the system will chime twice and warning indicators on the ADAD and the side mirror surface will illuminate.
Additionally, the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system operates while the vehicle is reversing at speed less than 8km/h. The same rear radar sensors help to detect an approaching vehicle below 30km/h driving speed and warn the driver with an audible alert and indicator on the side mirror surface where the vehicle is approaching from.
The highly appreciated Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVM) with Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) system that is featured on the Nissan X-Trail, Serena S-Hybrid and Navara, is now available on the all-new Nissan Almera Turbo too.
Perfect during parking and manoeuvring tight spots, the Intelligent Around View Monitor system uses 4 cameras that provide a virtual 360° bird’s-eye view of the vehicle, while the Intelligent Moving Object Detection helps to detect and alert the driver of moving objects surrounding the vehicle.
The all-new Nissan Almera Turbo is also packed with other various safety technologies that are always looking out for you by monitoring, responding and protecting you and your passengers, including:
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control (TC)
Hill Start Assist (HSA)
Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist (BA)
Electronic Braking Distribution (EBD)
6 SRS Airbags (available on VLP and VLT variants only)
ISOFIX with Top Tether (x2) Child Seat Restraint system
A 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty comes standard on all Nissan Almera Turbo variants, along with free 5 times alternating maintenance service (parts and labour included) within 5 years.
To recap, the All-New Nissan Almera Turbo is offered in three variants:
Nissan has decided to give us a glimpse at the cabin of the upcoming 2021 Nissan Qashqai, which will apparently set new standards in the segment in terms of refinement and connectivity.
It is said that there will be new Nappa leather seat design that takes 25 days to produce and more than 60 minutes to embroider, along with a new 3D diamond quilted design.
Adding a touch of luxury, a massage seat function with three program modes is introduced on range-topping versions for both front seats, with settings conveniently adjusted via the NissanConnect system.
Creating a reassuring and calming environment, new white ambient lighting is used throughout the cabin, with its uniformity giving a premium and harmonious impression.
The centre console layout has also been optimised through a collaboration between Nissan’s designers and engineers for both ergonomics and usability. Central to which is a smart new smaller gear selector for automatic versions.
On 4WD versions, a drive mode selector switch has been styled with a matt chrome ring and piano black finish, giving drivers a tactile portal to the various driving modes.
As far as infotainment is concerned, there will be In-Car Wi-Fi for up to seven devices, NissanConnect Services, a dedicated app to control and monitor the vehicle, a 9-inch NissanConnect display screen, Android Auto, Wireless Apple CarPlay, and multiple user profiles with memory settings for navigation, music and system preferences.
Further complementing the list of features is the Bose Premium sound system with 10 speakers and a Bose Acoustimass bass box located in the boot.
A new high-definition, fully electronic 12.3 inch TFT multi-information screen offers a choice of configurable layouts to display navigation, entertainment, traffic or vehicle information, all controlled from a new tactile dial switch on the steering wheel.
A traditional “Kiriko” cut glass texture is also added to the TFT’s digital background – a nod to Nissan’s Japanese DNA.
An innovative new 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) provides the biggest-in-segment image size. Key navigation, driver assistance and road information are projected onto the windscreen within the driver’s line of vision, allowing drivers to maintain their focus on the road for more comfort and confidence at the wheel.
In a first for the Qashqai, a front storage console provides convenient 15w wireless charging for smartphones – among the most powerful in the segment – and accommodating even the largest dimensions of devices, including the recently-launched Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Connectivity extends to all occupants with the console box now offering front and rear USB charging connections with both USB-A and USB-C ports.
Further reflecting the model’s Japanese DNA, the information sounds of the new Qashqai, for example the seatbelt reminder and turn signals, were developed in collaboration with Japanese video game developer and publisher Bandai Namco. The sounds have even been developed to be more harmonious, with a melodic dual tone signature.
A powered hands-free tailgate makes accessing the boot effortless when hands are anything but free. Overall luggage capacity has increased by 74-litres from the previous generation model thanks in part to the cargo floor being lowered by 20mm as a consequence of the improved packaging of the rear suspension.
For easier loading in low light conditions, there’s now dual lighting in the luggage area providing better illumination. A 12v socket has also been installed in the rear for powering devices such as electric cool boxes for camping trips.
Even storage in the main cabin has been refined to enhance usability. The two front cup holders are spaced further apart, improving storage and making smaller cups easier to remove, and the door pockets can now hold up to 1.5-litre bottles, compared to just 500ml on the previous generation Qashqai.
Taken all together, from the array of easy-to-use smartphone-based app features, the comfort and convenience of massage seats and a heated steering wheel, the elevated fit, finish and materials, to the extra occupant and storage space, the new Qashqai will, again, extend what customers can expect from a medium-sized crossover.
Nissan today unveiled the new 2020 Nissan Navara pickup, featuring a more aggressive design, a quieter and more comfortable interior, as well as suspension tuning to enhance its on- and off-road dynamic driving performance. The pickup also features an increased payload capacity.
Further elevating the pickup’s rugged character is the introduction of the PRO-4X variant – a first for the Navara nameplate.
The Navara PRO-4X offers an even more impressive, eye-catching style to appeal to extreme adventure lovers who crave an escape from the daily routine. The new look of PRO-4X grade will be available across global Nissan pick-up line-up.
According to Nissan, the 2020 Navara marks another milestone in the company’s Nissan NEXT transformation plan and confirms Nissan’s commitment to service the strong ongoing demand for advanced pickups across the ASEAN and Australia regions.
Design wise, the Navara’s front fascia carries the new “interlock” grille – a unique feature found exclusively on the Nissan pickup family and first introduced on the latest Nissan Titan – creating a powerful front face for the vehicle.
And then we have the model name which is embossed on top of the front grille and across the full width of the bed door in the rear. The font of the model name was also updated.
The Navara also features C-shaped quad LED projector headlamps, LED tail lamps with bright chrome detail in between, a new rear bumper step, as well as new side step finishers.
Inside, the new Navara comes with increased level of sound deadening insulation and laminated windshield and front windows. Additionally, the pickups front is now more convenient and driver-oriented.
This includes a new Nissan steering wheel and improved styling of the instrument panel highlighting the 8-inch navigation screen and a 7-inch higher resolution TFT screen.
The rear seats are now even more comfortable for passengers, with upgrades to the seat cushions and back shapes. For added convenience, passengers in the back can also now utilize the new rear armrest with built-in cup holders to store beverages or smartphones.
The newly introduced PRO-4X grade comes with its own distinctive, athletic look with a black Nissan emblem, a black front bumper and black grille, door handles, roof racks and running boards accented by 17-inch black wheels and all terrain tires.
The PRO-4X takes the design up another notch with lively, orange-red accents, a tint inspired by the color of magma, contrasted with the dark grill, wheels, and mirror caps.
The PRO-4X line also uses a signature orange-red color for the Nissan wordmark on the black emblem, as well as other orange-red accents inside and outside the car.
The new Nissan Navara will be available in eight exterior colors, with two new colors (Orange Brown and a new shade of gray, developed for the PRO-4X grade) available in all markets with light gray, gray and black fabric or leather interior (options and colors will vary by market).
Where driver assistance is concerned, there are the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning System, Intelligent Emergency Braking, Intelligent Driver Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Blind Spot Warning, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
To meet the increasing needs of connected lifestyles, the new Nissan Navara is now equipped with a new Nissan Connect infotainment system with Bluetooth streaming audio, voice recognition, navigation, multiple USB ports, a USB Type C port in the console which can support the charging of multiple devices, rain-sensing wipers with wiping speed adjustment, and a speed-sensing door lock that switches on as soon as vehicle speed exceeds 25 km/h for enhanced security.
The Navara is also equipped with auto-folding mirror for smarter parking and serving as an easily visible reminder of when the vehicle is locked or unlocked.
Other improvements include a strengthened rear axle, additional truck bed volume (depending on region), an integrated step in the new rear bumper, a flap-type, tie-down hook on the truck bed.
Nothing was mentioned about the powertrain, which indicates that the Navara will most probably retain the existing 2.3 litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that kicks out 188 hp and 450 Nm of torque, along a choice of either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox.
What we do know is that there is an Active Brake Limited Slip Differential system (ABLS), which manages power delivery and wheel braking between the front and rear axles and between the left and right of the vehicle, depending on traction and speed.
Working with the Vehicle Dynamic Control system (VDC) and ABS brakes, this system enables drivers to be more confident and feel secure when towing large payloads and driving through muddy terrain with less acceleration and brake operation.
And then we have the Trailer Sway Control system which helps the vehicle to maintain stability on the road when towing a trailer.
