PRO-NET has announced that more than 20,000 Proton e.MAS vehicles are now on Malaysian roads, marking a significant milestone for the national automaker’s electrification efforts amid growing demand for EVs and plug-in hybrids in the country.
The milestone is largely driven by strong demand for the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, which has emerged as Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) in 2026 year-to-date.
According to the company, the model has recorded 1,755 registrations since its launch in February this year, while accumulating more than 6,500 bookings within just a few months of entering the market.
The e.MAS 7 PHEV also registered 1,013 units in April 2026 alone, helping it maintain its lead in the local PHEV segment.
Overall, the Proton e.MAS range has achieved 20,509 cumulative registrations year-to-date. Of the total, 10,067 units were contributed by the Proton e.MAS 7, while the Proton e.MAS 5 accounted for 8,687 units.

In April alone, the company recorded 3,421 registrations across the lineup, including 1,772 units of the e.MAS 5 and 636 units of the e.MAS 7, highlighting continued momentum for the brand’s electrified portfolio despite intensifying competition in Malaysia’s EV market.
PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang said the achievement reflects increasing confidence among Malaysian consumers towards electrified mobility.
“Surpassing the 20,000-unit milestone reflects the strong trust Malaysian customers have placed in Proton e.MAS. More importantly, it indicates a clear shift in Malaysia, where more drivers are embracing electrified mobility with confidence,” he said.
Alongside growing vehicle adoption, the company is also accelerating the expansion of its nationwide EV ecosystem to support customers throughout the ownership journey.

Currently, the Proton e.MAS network consists of 53 dealer operations nationwide, supported by 10 body and paint centres. The company is also expanding its 3S network towards 40 locations as demand for EV-related sales and aftersales services continues to grow.
PRO-NET said it is simultaneously strengthening its aftersales capabilities, technical readiness, and charging support infrastructure to ensure faster service turnaround times and better ownership convenience.
The latest milestone comes as Malaysia’s EV market continues to expand rapidly, with more automakers introducing electrified models across both EV and PHEV segments, intensifying competition in the local market.
