JAECOO Malaysia has continued to build momentum since entering the local market in 2024, delivering a strong performance that underscores the brand’s growing acceptance among Malaysian buyers and setting a solid foundation for further expansion in 2026.

In its first year of operations, the brand recorded more than 7,040 vehicle deliveries, establishing an early foothold in a highly competitive market. This performance accelerated significantly in 2025, with total sales climbing over 153 percent year-on-year to 17,849 units, highlighting sustained demand for JAECOO’s SUV lineup.

The JAECOO J7 emerged as the brand’s top-performing model, accounting for 11,522 units delivered nationwide. The SUV’s blend of premium positioning, robust on-road and off-road capability, and advanced technology resonated strongly with Malaysian customers, making it a key contributor to the brand’s rapid growth.

Electrified mobility also played a crucial role in JAECOO’s 2025 results. The J7 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) attracted more than 3,000 customers, reflecting rising interest in the brand’s Super Hybrid technology. The strong uptake reinforces JAECOO’s position in the growing hybrid and electrified SUV segment, where efficiency and performance are increasingly prioritised.

According to Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Corporate Malaysia, the brand’s results signal a clear shift in market perception. He noted that JAECOO has progressed beyond its newcomer status to become a preferred option for Malaysian drivers, with 2026 focused on strengthening long-term local presence through product expansion and a more locally attuned dealer and service network.

Looking ahead, JAECOO is preparing to broaden its model range with the introduction of the J5, scheduled to enter the Malaysian market in 2026. Positioned to appeal to lifestyle-driven buyers, the J5 is expected to complement the brand’s existing lineup while targeting new customer segments. Bookings are now open, with an estimated starting price of RM120,000.

Chris Tan, Senior Director and Head of OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia, said the upcoming J5 reflects the brand’s strategy to diversify its offerings. The model is set to feature advanced infotainment, comprehensive safety systems, a spacious cabin, and lifestyle-focused features, reinforcing JAECOO’s push to raise expectations in the premium B-segment SUV category.

As JAECOO Malaysia continues to expand its footprint, the brand remains focused on delivering performance-driven vehicles supported by intelligent technology, electrified options, and a premium ownership experience tailored to modern Malaysian motorists.
