SAIC Motor Malaysia has announced updated pricing for the MGS5 EV, underscoring the brand’s continued push to make electric mobility more accessible to Malaysians while strengthening its position in the local EV segment.

Effective immediately, the MGS5 EV is priced at RM107,900 for the COM, RM117,900 for the COM Long Range, and RM127,900 for the LUX Long Range. All variants feature a rear-wheel-drive powertrain delivering 170PS and 250Nm of torque, making it the only RWD model in its class.

The COM variant is available with either a 49kWh battery offering up to 340km WLTP range or a 62kWh battery capable of up to 430km, while the LUX variant comes exclusively with the larger pack. Both support 7kW AC charging, and the LUX adds 150kW DC fast charging, allowing a 10%–80% top-up in just 26 minutes.

Distinguishing features of the LUX variant include 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather-fabric seats with perforated MG logos, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated leather steering wheel, wireless charging pad, powered tailgate, and a 360-degree camera system.

Standard across all variants are LED headlamps with “Racing Flag” DRLs, MG’s signature Arch Taillights, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch infotainment display, 10.25-inch digital cluster, and MG iSMART connectivity.

Built on an ultra-thin Horizontal Battery Layout, the MGS5 EV offers improved interior space and a lower centre of gravity for enhanced stability. Its adaptive pressure control system minimises cell expansion to increase safety and battery lifespan.

Each purchase includes the Ultimate Ownership Package, worth up to RM10,000, which provides either a complimentary 7kW AC wallbox charger (installation not included) or charging credits. Customers can also opt for the MG Ultimate Financing Package for flexible ownership solutions through authorised dealers.

“This price revision reflects our commitment to making EV ownership more attainable as we move toward local assembly,” said Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. “Our localisation plans are well underway, ensuring customers enjoy even greater value and flexibility.”
