BMW M1000 RR Competition in Malaysia: Here’s Everything You Need to Know

BMW Motorrad Malaysia recently launched the new BMW M 1000 RR Competition, a road-legal superbike built with track-focused engineering, advanced aerodynamics, and enhanced performance for Malaysian riders.

The new M 1000 RR Competition is powered by a 999cc inline four-cylinder engine producing 218 hp at 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm — a 6 hp increase over its predecessor. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 314 km/h, while remaining compliant with Euro 5+ emission standards.

Upgrades include a reworked cylinder head with improved airflow, titanium valves, a larger 52 mm throttle valve, and a redesigned full-titanium exhaust system to reduce back pressure and weight. These refinements enhance throttle response and midrange torque delivery.

The M 1000 RR Competition features a revised Flex Frame with increased rigidity and a relocated engine mount for improved stability. The new M short-stroke throttle reduces rotation from 72° to 58° for faster throttle response.

A redesigned front fairing and windscreen, along with carbon fibre M Winglets 3.0, generate up to 30 kg of downforce at 300 km/h, improving cornering stability and front-wheel control. The use of high-strength plastic for the fairing, engine spoiler, and wheel covers reduces overall weight.

The superbike’s aerodynamics were developed through extensive wind tunnel testing to optimise performance both on track and road conditions.

Equipped with Riding Modes Pro, the M 1000 RR Competition offers settings for Rain, Road, Dynamic, and Race, as well as Race Pro 1–3 for advanced tuning of traction control, throttle response, and engine braking.

New features include Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) with Slide Control, which uses steering angle sensors to regulate rear-wheel slip during acceleration. BMW Race ABS Pro now incorporates Brake Slide Assist, allowing controlled rear-wheel drifts under braking. The system also supports slick tyres for track use through its ABS Pro “Slick” mode.

Available exclusively as the M Competition variant, the superbike comes finished in Blackstorm Metallic with signature M design elements. The M Carbon Package adds matte-finish carbon components, while the M Billet Pack includes CNC-milled aluminium parts such as brake and clutch levers, rider footrests, and a brake lever guard.

Other key equipment includes M Carbon Wheels, M Endurance Chain, M GPS-Laptrigger, a tinted windscreen, and an anodised rear swingarm — all contributing to weight savings and precise handling.

The BMW M 1000 RR Competition is priced at RM 299,500 (on-the-road, without insurance), inclusive of BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programme.

Financing through BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia starts from RM 4,178 per month, based on a 90% loan over seven years. Owners also have access to BMW Motorrad’s Service Inclusive, Warranty Extension, and Premium Engine Oil Inclusive programmes.
