Tata Motors announced that the most recent addition to its ‘New Forever’ range of SUVs, the Tata Punch, received a 5-star rating (16.453) for adult occupant protection and 4-star rating (40.891) for child occupant protection from Global NCAP.
According to Tata, the rating received is the highest adult occupant protection rating any vehicle has received in India.
The list of safety features in the Tata Punch includes:

The Tata Punch is also the third car from Tata Motors to receive this recognition after Altroz in January 2020 and Nexon in December 2018.
Designed across its studios in India, UK, and Italy, the Punch has been developed to herald the creation of an entirely new category – the sub-compact SUV, to address a growing customer need globally for a small yet spacious vehicle.

Following a grand unveiling as the H2X Concept in 2020, Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch the newest addition to its SUV lineup.
The Company announced yesterday that it has named this highly anticipated SUV in India as ‘Punch’.
Tata’s ALFA Architecture
Leading up to its debut in India, Tata Motors officially unveiled the Punch, its first SUV built on ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture), developed under Impact 2.0 design language.
Designed for young users, the Tata ‘Punch’ promises to offer a mix of tough utility with sporting dynamics and epitomises what a characterful SUV should be.
Sources in India reported that the Tata Punch will be offered in two variants wherever it is sold, with two 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine options.
The speculation is that the entry-level variant will get a naturally aspirated engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox, while the higher spec version will get a turbocharged engine with an automatic gearbox.
Unveiling this much-awaited SUV, Mr. Shailesh Chandra – President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said – “Tata Punch, as the name suggest is an energetic vehicle with a capability to go anywhere. Light on its feet and strong in its caliber, this is a vehicle which truly punches above its weight.

Made for the city

Expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakhs (RM29,000), the Punch will be taking on micro SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and the Nissan Magnite among others.

Tata Motors showcased seven new public transportation vehicles at the Prawaas 2019 exhibition in Mumbai, India. .
The exhibition, which is a biennial event, saw various companies displaying new technologies, innovations, products, and services in the passenger transportation sector.
This year, Tata Motors displayed the Magna 1623, Starbus 1212, Cityride 1515, Winger 9 seater, Compact Patient Transport Ambulance on Tata Magic, Tata Hexa SUV, as well as the Ultra Electric Bus.
According to Tata, these buses come with enhanced fuel economy and a longer service life. Apart from the Ultra Electric bus displayed at the event, the company has also developed a range of sustainable mobility solutions such as Hybrid, Fuel Cell, LNG and Articulated buses to meet the future transportation needs of the ‘Envisaged Smart Cities’.

Tata Motors, Indias largest commercial vehicle manufacturer today launched a range of new generation compact truck the Tata INTRA.
With a 2512 mm x 1602 mm load body length, the Tata INTRA comes in two variants- V10 and V20.
While the INTRA V20 comes with 1400 cc DI Engine with 70 hp, the INTRA V10 is powered by the 800 cc DI Engine delivering 40 hp.
The vehicle has a standard power steering fitment and with low turning circle radius of 4.75m, ensuring easy manoeuvrability even on narrow and congested roads.
The power train is tuned to suit various duty cycles using Gear Shift Advisor or economy switch, leading to enhanced fuel efficiency. the INTRA also has a 5-speed gearbox with cable shift mechanism.
The Tata INTRA also has a boltable full forward robust body shell cabin and has been intelligently designed with a smart nose along with seatbelts with ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor).
Built on a hydroformed frame, the INTRA is comparatively lighter. The smartly engineered cabin space, improved ergonomics and low NVH levels.
Other key features include a phone charging point, electronic instrument cluster, big headlamps, a large windscreen, a lockable glove box, storage on dashboard & door trims, headrest for comfort while driving, pre-fitted music system, and AC in the premium version to enhance the fatigue-free driving experience.
The gear lever is mounted on the dashboard making longer drives comfortable and tireless for the driver. Last but not least, the front and rear rigid axles and leaf springs ensure superior load carrying capability and low cost of maintenance.
In an endeavour to continuously provide best customer experience for its commercial vehicles range, Tata Motors today announced the commencement of the third edition of its Global Service Camp, from November 15 till 17. Witnessing a rise in serviced vehicles by 108% in the second edition of the camp as compared to the first one, this year, the company aims to service over 40,000 commercial vehicles across 700 touch points in over 40 countries.
