With lower emissions and high performance, the MINI Countryman SE presents a rewarding driving experience – while saving on fuel.
MINI has unveiled yet another unique version of the Countryman called the MINI Countryman Boardwalk, featuring a few cool cosmetic enhancements.
The list begins with the Deep Laguna metallic exterior paint, which was available only for the MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition earlier. However, due to popular demand, the colour has been made available for the Countryman as well, through the Boardwalk edition.
Complementing the colour is the black contrast finish on the roof as well as the exterior mirror caps. Another unique feature is the design of the Countryman Boardwalk’s emblem.
The logo design was inspired by the characteristic pattern of the wooden beams laid longitudinally and diagonally on traditional seaside walkways.
The model is produced as a limited edition, is immediately available and can be ordered in three model variants.
A stripe pattern in Deep Laguna metallic and black metallic with the lettering “Boardwalk” adorns the frame of the side trims known as Side Scuttles.
Patterns and inscriptions can also be found on the entry bars. In addition, the side flanks of the roof at the rear side windows and the interior bar on the passenger side each bear a logo with the name of the edition model.
The new MINI Countryman Boardwalk is available in three model variants. In the MINI Cooper Countryman Boardwalk a three-cylinder petrol engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology produces a maximum output of 136 hp.
As an alternative to the standard 6-speed manual transmission, a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with dual clutch is available for both the MINI Cooper Countryman Boardwalk and the MINI Cooper S Countryman Boardwalk.
The all-wheel-drive edition model is equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission as standard. With numerous other options, the exclusive appearance of the edition vehicles can be personalised for added driving pleasure and comfort.
For adventurers and wanderers: The new MINI Countryman Boardwalk
The new MINI Countryman is as equipped for the challenges of everyday life as it is for spontaneous excursions beyond the city limits and adventures on unpaved terrain. Its versatile character is now enhanced with a stylish touch. An exterior finish in Deep Laguna metallic and exclusive design features for the exterior and interior make the new MINI Countryman Boardwalk stand-out both on the metropolitan promenades and during trips to the beach. The model is produced as a limited edition, is immediately available and can be ordered in three model variants.
The Deep Laguna metallic body colour effectively showcases the powerfully modelled surfaces of the MINI Countryman. The high-quality shimmering blue tone was previously developed exclusively for the MINI Convertible Sidewalk edition model, also a limited edition, and sparked enthusiasm in the MINI community. Now the wish of many MINI fans to make this colour available for the new MINI Countryman is fulfilled. It is combined with a black contrast finish on the roof and exterior mirror caps.
With this colour combination, the new MINI Countryman Boardwalk is eye-catching from every angle. The name of the edition refers to the promenades of traditional seaside resorts in the British home of the MINI brand. The often mile-long walkways, which connect spas and serve as access to the typical English piers, were originally the preferred stage for large social performances. The characteristic pattern of the wooden beams laid longitudinally and diagonally on the promenades now serve as the inspiration for the emblem of the new edition.
In the MINI Cooper Countryman Boardwalk (fuel consumption combined: 5.9 – 5.6 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 135 – 129 g/km) a three-cylinder petrol engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology produces a maximum output of 100 kW/136 hp. A four-cylinder petrol engine with 131 kW/178 hp drives the MINI Cooper S Countryman Boardwalk (fuel consumption combined: 6.5 – 6.3 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 148 – 144 g/km) and MINI Cooper S Countryman ALL4 Boardwalk (fuel consumption combined: 6.5 – 6.2 l/100 km; CO2 emissions combined: 149 – 142 g/km).
MINI develops concepts for electric John Cooper Works models
Munich. The evolution of the MINI model range is focused on the ongoing expansion of electric mobility and offering new opportunities to experience the brand’s hallmark driving enjoyment – which also opens up new possibilities for the John Cooper Works brand. Future MINI vehicle architectures mean that extreme performance and genuine driving enjoyment will also be available with electric drive as well as combustion engines.
MINI is already making great strides when it comes to electric mobility. The MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 plug-in hybrid model (combined fuel consumption: 2.0 – 1.7 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 14.0 – 13.1 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 45 – 40 g/km) led to five percent of the brand’s total sales being electrified. Following the highly successful launch of the all-electric MINI Cooper SE (fuel consumption combined: 0.0 l/100 km; combined power consumption: 16.8 – 14.8 kWh/100 km; combined CO2 emissions: 0 g/km), this share doubled to around ten per cent within just a few months. Based on this experience, and looking ahead to future technology, MINI is now preparing the next step in the development of electric John Cooper Works models.
“With the MINI Electric, we’ve shown how well brand-typical driving enjoyment and electric mobility can be combined,” says Bernd Körber, Head of the MINI brand. “Now it’s time to translate the passion for performance of the John Cooper Works brand to electromobility. That’s why we’re working to develop concepts for electric John Cooper Works models.”
The current focus on the development of a MINI John Cooper Works Electric demonstrates just how important electric mobility is in terms of the brand’s future direction – the goal is a unique blend of sustainability, performance and passion. “John Cooper Works models with conventional combustion engines will still continue to have an important role to play, to make sure we’re addressing the wishes and needs of performance enthusiasts all around the world,” says Bernd Körber. “With this new focus on electric performance, we’re also creating the opportunity to sharpen the distinctive profile of the John Cooper Works brand more than ever before.”

Limited to 38 units each, both the special MINI Countryman Sports variants will be powered by the same two-litre, four-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo that produces 192 hp and a peak torque of 280 Nm.
The sporty model is capable of making the century sprint in 7.5 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 225km/h. Paired with the engine is a Seven-speed Dual Clutch Sports Automatic Transmission.
The interior of both variants continue with the black theme. The headliner is covered with Anthracite headliner, and the Sport Seats are covered in the luxurious Leather Cross Punch in Carbon Black. Meanwhile, the John Cooper Works Interior Surface is also clad in Piano Black.

Featuring bespoke side scuttles and door sills that bear the indication of units available such as “one of fifteen”, the MINI Electric First Edition also debuts an all-new exterior colour in the stunning MINI Yours Enigmatic Black.

The MINI Electric First Edition presents premium luxury and comfort at its finest in the vehicle’s interior with the MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Lounge Upholstery and MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Steering.

Like the New All-Electric MINI, the MINI Electric First Edition is powered by the latest dynamic version of the synchronous electric motor developed by the BMW Group.
While the front-axle electric engine is capable of producing 184 hp, there is also a 12-module T-shaped battery unit with a net capacity of 28.9kWh. The MINI Electric First Edition is complete with the single-pedal drive which is part of the characteristic driving experience in the All-Electric MINI. This means the electrically powered vehicle can be appropriately decelerated at low speeds without using the brake system and therefore being driven using a single pedal.
The electrified MINI also features the actuator-contiguous wheel slip limiter (ARB) function which significantly improves traction by providing faster control. Four driving modes in Sport, Mid, Green and Green+ are available in the MINI Electric First Edition.

Say hello to the New MINI John Cooper Works GP, the most powerful MINI GP ever built, which just made its Malaysian debut yesterday.
The MINI John Cooper Works GP is available exclusively in Racing Grey metallic, with the roof and exterior mirror caps finished in the contrasting Melting Silver metallic. The hexagonal radiator grille, the inserts in the lower air intake and the inside of the roof spoiler finished in high-gloss Chili Red leaves an aggressive impression for the MINI John Cooper Works GP.
This is accentuated by the GP insignia stylised in Rosso Red metallic matte on the front and rear, the outer sides of the roof spoiler, foils above the side skirts and the door sill finishers.
This is contrasted by the black finish of the headlight and rear light surround, the central radiator grille, the door handles, the fuel filler flap, the inlay on the bonnet and the MINI logo at the front and rear of the vehicle.
Likewise, the black inlays on the headlamps and the darkened Union Jack rear light units emphasise the uncompromising sporty flair of the New MINI John Cooper Works GP.
The New MINI John Cooper Works GP is fitted as standard with 18-inch lightweight forged wheels that weigh less than nine kg. The hub caps on the exclusive wheels bear the GP logo.
The vehicle’s aerodynamic properties also include the large and strikingly flared wheel arch trims, manufactured through a special process and with a material combination used for the first time by the BMW Group. This consist of a thermoplastic substructure and an outer shell made of carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP).
The New MINI John Cooper Works GP is the BMW Group’s first production vehicle to feature an exposed matte CFRP coating. The individual numbering with the numbers “0001” to “3000” is applied to the surfaces of the front wheel arch panels by means of a newly developed paint transfer process.
Inside, the New MINI John Cooper Works GP is equipped with John Cooper Works sports seats in Leather Dinamica with silver side edges, red accentuation seams, a GP badge underneath the integrated headrests and red belt straps. The interior trim on the passenger side bears the numbering of the respective vehicles, produced individually for each one of the 3,000 units using 3D printing.
The 3D printing process also developed the features on the model-specific John Cooper Works Leather Steering Wheel including the metal centre marking for the 12 o’clock position, as well as the shift paddles. In addition to the GP logo, a characteristic honeycomb structure can be seen on the paddle surfaces.
Colour accentuations are provided by the red GP logos on the floor mats, matching double stripes on the gear selector and the Chili Red painted aluminium cross-brace behind the seats. This serves as a shield to prevent luggage items from slipping forward in the event of sudden braking.
The standard trim also includes a black panel digital instrument cluster on the steering column. The high-resolution 5-inch colour screen shows the road speed both numerically and on a scale, as well as model-specific display including temporary feedback and permanent display after activation of the GP mode.
This MINI Visual Boost can be operated via the intuitive touchscreen, the MINI controller or the Voice Control. Owners can also connect their iPhone wirelessly to the vehicle and use the MINI Visual Boost to access numerous features on the phone with Apple CarPlay.
Wireless Charging is also available to ensure mobile phones are always charged. The New MINI John Cooper Works GP is also equipped with MINI Connected that features Intelligent Emergency Call, MINI TeleServices and Remote Services.
Power comes courtesy of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo, paired with the eight-speed Steptronic transmission with mechanical differential lock, producing 306 hp and a peak torque of 450 Nm.
Thanks to the powertrain, the MINI JCW GP is capable of making the century sprint in just 5.2 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 265km/h. With a time of less than eight minutes at the Nürburgring, the New MINI John Cooper Works GP is significantly faster than its predecessor.
Model-specific modifications to the engine include a reinforced crankshaft with enlarged main bearing diameter, specific pistons, bushless connecting rods and a new torsional vibration damper with optimised cooling.
That being said, the new MINI John Cooper Works GP is available exclusively in Racing Grey metallic and in limited units at selected authorised MINI dealerships nationwide.
The car is covered by MINI Malaysia’s 5 Years Roadside Assistance programme, available for all new MINI vehicles with a comprehensive list of services that include a 24-Hour, 365-days-a-year Accident and Help on the Phone and On the Spot Hotline, Free Towing Services and when needed (over 200KM from residential home), Replacement Vehicle, Seamless Mobility, Accommodation, Mobility Services Solutions as well as Repatriation services.
The Recommended retail price of the New MINI John Cooper Works GP with Sales Tax Exemption* (on the road for personal registration, without insurance) is RM377,470.90
