Proton has recorded its strongest first-half sales performance in 15 years after delivering 100,346 vehicles in the first six months of 2026, marking a 39.1% increase over the same period last year.
The achievement follows 16,052 deliveries in June and puts the national automaker firmly on track towards its target of selling 200,000 vehicles by the end of the year. The growth was driven by continued demand for its internal combustion engine (ICE) lineup alongside rapid expansion of its Proton e.MAS electrified vehicle range.
Leading Proton’s sales chart remains the Saga, with 7,000 units delivered in June and 44,375 units sold year-to-date, up 40% compared to the first half of 2025.

The Proton X50 retained its position as Malaysia’s best-selling B-segment SUV and overall SUV after recording 2,378 deliveries in June, bringing cumulative sales to 15,345 units, a 35.1% increase year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Proton S70 continued to dominate the C-segment sedan market with 2,307 units sold in June and 12,832 units delivered year-to-date, representing 37.3% growth. The refreshed Proton X90 also maintained its lead in the D-segment seven-seater SUV category, with sales running 50% ahead of the same period last year.
Proton Deputy Chief Executive Officer Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa said surpassing the 100,000-unit milestone before the halfway point of the year reflects the continued confidence Malaysians have in the brand.

He added that the company is seeing balanced growth across both its ICE models and the Proton e.MAS lineup, providing a strong foundation as it works towards its 200,000-unit sales target.
Electrified vehicles have become an increasingly important contributor to Proton’s performance. The company has delivered 17,920 Proton e.MAS vehicles so far this year, representing an impressive 321% increase over the corresponding period in 2025.
The locally assembled Proton e.MAS 5 remains Malaysia’s best-selling electric vehicle, with 1,436 deliveries in June and 10,793 units sold year-to-date.

The Proton e.MAS 7 added 659 units in June, bringing cumulative deliveries to 3,053 units, while the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV continued its strong momentum by recording its third consecutive month of more than 1,000 deliveries. A total of 1,138 units were delivered in June, lifting year-to-date sales to 4,074 units.
PRO-NET Chief Executive Officer Zhang Qiang said customer acceptance of the Proton e.MAS range continues to exceed expectations, driven by attractive ownership costs, expanding charging infrastructure and a growing dealer network.
Looking ahead, Proton says it will continue expanding production capacity, enhancing its dealer network and introducing new products following previews shown at KLIMS 2026. With strong demand across both its conventional and electrified vehicle portfolios, the company enters the second half of 2026 with positive momentum as it pursues its goal of delivering 200,000 vehicles this year.
