PRO-NET marked two significant milestones at the recent Penang Autoshow 2026 with the debut of a new Jade Green exterior colour for the Proton e.MAS 5, alongside the first Northern Malaysia showcase of its Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform.
Taking centre stage at the show, the Proton e.MAS 5—currently Malaysia’s No.1 EV model with over 8,000 units delivered year-to-date in 2026—now gains a fresh Jade Green colour option, adding more visual appeal to its growing popularity. It is displayed alongside the Emerald Green Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV, further expanding the brand’s electrified portfolio.
Also making its Northern Malaysia debut is PRO-NET’s Global Modular Architecture (GMA) platform, which underpins its EV and plug-in hybrid offerings. Designed with a focus on flexibility, safety, and performance, the platform integrates key technologies such as a highly integrated motor system, high-strength steel construction, and optimised driving dynamics.

According to PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang, the initiative reflects the company’s push to make EV technology more accessible and better understood among Malaysians. He noted that the introduction of the GMA platform in the northern region allows more consumers to experience firsthand how electrified vehicles differ from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) models.
Northern Malaysia is emerging as a key growth hub for EV adoption, supported by improving infrastructure and increasing consumer confidence. Proton e.MAS currently leads the region with a commanding 64.2% market share as of March 2026, underlining its strong presence and growing acceptance among local buyers.
This growth is further supported by favourable conditions such as a higher proportion of landed homes, which facilitate easier home charging installations. At the same time, the continued expansion of public charging networks is improving accessibility and encouraging broader EV usage.

Visitors to the Penang Autoshow 2026 can also experience the full Proton e.MAS lineup—including the e.MAS 5, e.MAS 7, and e.MAS 7 PHEV—through on-site test drives held from 1 to 3 May.
Adding to the excitement is the Proton e.MAS Golden Test Drive Campaign, which runs from 13 April to 17 May 2026. Built around the theme “30 Gold Bars in 30 Days,” the campaign offers participants the chance to win a total of 30 units of 3g gold bars over five weeks.
Participation is straightforward: visit a participating showroom, test drive a Proton e.MAS model, place a booking, and submit an entry via the dealer. The campaign aims to encourage more Malaysians to experience electrified mobility while rewarding them for taking the first step toward EV ownership.
With new product enhancements, expanding infrastructure, and engaging customer initiatives, PRO-NET continues to strengthen its position at the forefront of Malaysia’s growing EV landscape.
