Hyundai-Sime Darby Motor Sdn Bhd (HSDM) today officially launched the Hyundai Palisade flagship SUV, which will be available in 4 variants with price as mentioned below:
- Hyundai Palisade 2.2 CRDi AWD EXEC 7-seater – RM 348,888
- Hyundai Palisade 2.2 CRDi AWD EXEC 8-seater – RM 328,888
- Hyundai Palisade 3.8 GDI V6 2WD LUXE 7-seater – RM358,888
- Hyundai Palisade 3.8 GDI V6 2WD LUXE 8-seater – RM338,888
*All variants come with a standard warranty of 2 years or 50,000 km (whichever comes first).
Optional upgrades are available for the above variants by adding RM 11,000 (for LUXE 7 and LUXE 8) and RM 12,000 (for EXEC 7 and EXEC 8) to enjoy an upgrade of vehicle’s warranty to 5 years or 300,000 km (whichever comes first) and free service maintenance of 3 years or 50,000 km (whichever comes first).
Measuring 4,980 mm in length, 1,975 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height with a 2,900 mm wheelbase, the Palisade looks is a large and majestic looking SUV that makes the Santa Fe look small.
Highlights on the exterior include Dual LED headlights, LED taillights, LED DRLs, a Dual Power Sunroof with Tilting and Sliding Safety Function, Powered side mirrors with Puddle Lamp and Heating, Roof Racks, as well as 20-inch wheels.
In terms of design, both the 2.2-litre diesel and 3.8-litre V6 variants look identical, with the only difference being the front radar and front camera which is only available on the petrol variant.
Inside, there is a generous dose of leather upholstery in the spacious cabin. With the third-row seats folded, the Palisade offers 1,297-litres of cargo space.
Smart application features in the second-row seats include a smart one-touch walk-in button that automatically readjusts the second-row seat position for easier third-row entry and exit.
For added spaciousness, rear seat passengers can enjoy a dual-wide sunroof that not only brightens the interior of the car but is also well suited for countryside adventures as it brings nature closer to passengers all within the comfort of the Palisade.
Infotainment is handled by an 8-inch Touchscreen system with MP3 playback, AUX-in, USB, Bluetooth,Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Voice Recognition, complemented by six speakers. There are also seven USB ports and four power outlets, as well as paddle shifters.
Where safety is concerned, the Hyundai Palisade is equipped with Hyundai’s SmartSense suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems which include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Safe Exit Alert, among others.
Other standard features are its 6-airbag system, three-zone independent control fully automatic air conditioning, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Head-Up Display and adjustable Smart Power Tailgate to suit preferred height.
The Palisade comes in two power trains, namely the R 2.2 CRDI Turbo Diesel engine and the 3.8 V6 GDi Petrol engine. While the 3.8-litre V6 petrol engine produces 295 PS and 355 Nm of torque, the 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine churns out 200 PS and 440 Nm of maximum torque.
Only the diesel variant gets the AWD system, as the petrol variant is front-wheel driven. Due to this difference, the petrol variants offer four driving modes (Eco, Comfort, Sport, Smart), while the diesel versions get an additional three driving modes (Snow, Mud, Sand). All variants share the same 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Both versions are available in the seven or eight-seater variants in five exclusive earthy tones; white cream, lagoon silver, steel graphite, moonlight cloud, and timeless black.
Black-monotone and navy colour packages are offered for the interior with the options of black leather, and burgundy or warm grey Nappa leather.
