WTC Automotif (M) Sdn Bhd (WTCA), the official distributor and assembler of GAC vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced a refreshed version of the GAC GS3 EMZOOM.
Carrying the theme “Refreshed, Ready, Revved Up,” the latest update focuses on subtle design enhancements while retaining the SUV’s core strengths in performance and equipment.
Visually, the most notable change is the redesigned Flowing Diamond Star front grille, which lends the EMZOOM a more distinctive and assertive front-end presence. The Premium R variant also gains a new two-tone exterior finish, further amplifying its sporty appeal.
Customers can now choose from four exterior colour options: Graphite Grey with Black Roof, Super Star Silver with Black Roof, Frost White with Black Roof, and Asphalt Black.
According to WTCA Chief Operating Officer Loh Ling Howe, the EMZOOM has seen strong demand among Malaysian buyers thanks to its balance of performance, features, and value. He added that the latest refresh enhances the model’s visual appeal while preserving the sportiness that has made it a popular contender in its segment.
Under the bonnet, the EMZOOM continues unchanged, powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivering 177 PS and 270 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, providing brisk acceleration and smooth power delivery.
Performance remains a key highlight, with the SUV capable of completing the century sprint in 8.0 seconds, while fuel consumption is rated at a claimed 5.9 litres per 100 km—figures that position it competitively within the B-segment SUV space.
In terms of equipment, the EMZOOM remains well-specced. Standard features include a digital cockpit with dual displays, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Also included is Full Automatic Parking Assist (FAPA), enhancing convenience in tight urban environments.
The range-topping Premium R variant further distinguishes itself with a switchable sports exhaust system and an aero kit, catering to buyers seeking a more engaging and expressive driving experience.
Despite the updates, pricing remains unchanged. The GAC GS3 EMZOOM is priced from RM116,800 for the Exclusive variant and RM126,800 for the Premium R variant (on-the-road, without insurance, Peninsular Malaysia).
For a limited period, WTCA is offering rebates of up to RM18,500, with monthly instalment plans starting from as low as RM912, making the EMZOOM an even more compelling proposition for value-conscious buyers.
The EMZOOM is backed by GAC’s expanding network in Malaysia, which currently includes 23 showrooms and 45 service centres nationwide. Buyers will also benefit from a 5-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, along with an extended 7-year/180,000 km warranty covering the engine and transmission.
The refreshed EMZOOM will be available at authorised GAC showrooms nationwide, with test drives scheduled to take place from 9 to 10 May.
