Konsortium e-Mutiara Berhad has taken delivery of eight new MAN double-deck coaches equipped with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as the Malaysian express bus operator strengthens its fleet for the growing Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route.
The 12.9-metre coaches feature 38 seats and are fitted with Truckquip’s Alpha DD12 bodywork, built on MAN’s next-generation RR5 ELSA chassis. The vehicles were officially handed over by Truckquip Sdn Bhd and MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd at a ceremony in Shah Alam on 1 October 2026.
The new coaches use Euro V diesel engines and come with several safety and fleet management technologies designed to improve operational control and passenger safety.

Key features include Electronic Braking Assistance (EBA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), cruise control, telematics and a fleet management system. Their factory-set speed limit is capped at 90km/h on highways and 70km/h on downhill stretches.
E-Mutiara managing director Naemah Ya’acob said safety remains a priority for the company, highlighting MAN’s standard driver assistance systems and aftersales support.
The operator also has a Repair and Maintenance Contract covering its MAN coaches, with servicing handled by MAN technicians to help maintain vehicle condition and reliability.

The handover ceremony was witnessed by Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) deputy director of operations Masita Mat Isa, who commended E-Mutiara’s investment in passenger safety, comfort and lower-emission transport technology.
According to MAN Malaysia’s head of bus, Kasimov, the latest delivery marks the company’s third bus handover event in 16 months, reflecting its continued partnership with E-Mutiara.

The fleet expansion is not the operator’s only planned investment. E-Mutiara expects to receive a locally assembled 14.7-metre single-deck coach in the coming months, alongside a new generation of luxury coaches for its premium Mutiara LUXE service.
The latest additions form part of E-Mutiara’s broader fleet renewal strategy, with a focus on safety technology, passenger comfort and improved operational support as demand for intercity travel continues to grow.
