Alam Flora Sdn Bhd has taken delivery of 173 new UD Trucks as part of a major fleet expansion aimed at boosting its waste collection and public cleansing operations across Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Pahang.
The handover, carried out by UD Trucks Malaysia and its sole distributor Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd (TCIE), involves a mix of UD Croner medium-duty trucks and UD Kuzer light-duty trucks, both of which have already been deployed into service.
The new additions are intended to increase Alam Flora’s operational capacity while improving overall efficiency in its daily waste management and cleansing duties. Due to the size of the order, deliveries were completed in stages to accommodate production schedules, quality control checks, and body customisation for waste collection use.

The final phase of the delivery was marked by an official handover event at Terberg Malaysia’s facility in Balakong, where five units of the UD Croner were formally presented to Alam Flora.
Among those present at the event were Alam Flora CEO Shariman Yusuf Mohamed Zain, TCIE COO Loh Thim Choy, TCIE Deputy General Manager for After Sales Service Tanasegaran Kesavan, Terberg Tractors Malaysia CEO Boo Wei Ching, and Terberg Zenith Malaysia Managing Director Jeremy Boanson-James.
According to UD Trucks, the fleet supplied to Alam Flora has been tailored to meet the demands of urban and municipal waste collection, with the vehicles fitted with Terberg Malaysia’s Olympus rear-loading compaction bodies and bin lifter systems.
The UD Croner is designed for heavier-duty work, featuring a 6-cylinder engine and automatic transmission suited for logistics and waste compactor applications. The UD Kuzer, meanwhile, is positioned as a more compact and versatile option for urban operations, with fuel-saving driveline technology aimed at improving efficiency in stop-start city use. UD Trucks also positions both models as part of its broader commercial vehicle solutions for waste management and uptime-focused fleet operations.

Shariman said the new fleet is already making a positive impact on the ground, noting that Alam Flora’s operational teams have responded well to the trucks’ performance, fuel efficiency and durability.
He added that reliable vehicles are essential not only for collecting waste efficiently, but also for maintaining service schedules and preventing unnecessary build-up in high-density areas. He also highlighted the importance of strong aftersales support in the company’s decision-making process.
TCIE said its role goes beyond vehicle delivery, with the company continuing to support Alam Flora through a range of aftersales services designed to maximise fleet uptime.

These include the UD Extra Mile Services package, fixed-price maintenance programmes, priority servicing, genuine parts support, and 24/7 roadside assistance under the Res-Q programme. UD Trucks Malaysia also states that its support network is built around uptime and scheduled maintenance for fleet customers.
The handover marks one of the larger municipal fleet supply exercises involving UD Trucks in Malaysia, and reinforces the role commercial vehicles continue to play in keeping urban sanitation services running efficiently.
