iCAUR Malaysia has officially started local assembly (CKD) of the iCAUR V23 electric SUV, but with a key change for buyers — the model will now be offered in just one variant which is the V23 iWD, compared to the two variants previously available during its CBU introduction.
The locally assembled iCAUR V23 iWD is expected to arrive at authorised dealer showrooms nationwide by the end of July 2026, marking another major step in iCAUR Malaysia’s expansion strategy.
The move follows the brand’s strong momentum in Malaysia’s electric vehicle market, where iCAUR emerged as one of the Top 3 battery electric vehicle (BEV) brands in the first half of 2026.
Previously introduced as a fully imported (CBU) model with two variants, the iCAUR V23 lineup consisted of different drivetrain and specification options to cater to a wider range of buyers.
With the transition to CKD assembly, iCAUR Malaysia is streamlining the range by focusing on the V23 iWD all-wheel-drive variant, which continues to deliver the performance and features that made the model popular among Malaysian EV buyers.
Production of the iCAUR V23 CKD officially began in July, strengthening the brand’s local operations while improving supply availability for customers. According to iCAUR Malaysia, the CKD model maintains the same specifications, quality standards and equipment levels as the previous CBU version.
Despite the move to local assembly, pricing remains highly competitive. The iCAUR V23 iWD CKD is priced at RM132,780 (on-the-road without insurance), which is almost identical to the previous CBU model.
For comparison, the CBU iCAUR V23 iWD was initially launched in Malaysia at around RM132,800, before later adjustments brought the price closer to RM132,980. This means the new CKD version is effectively around RM200 cheaper than the latest CBU pricing, while offering the same core specifications.
Powering the V23 iWD is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 211 PS and 292 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 7.5 seconds. The SUV is equipped with an 81.76 kWh battery pack, offering up to 430 km of range based on the NEDC cycle.
