Hyundai Motor Malaysia (HMY) has marked a major milestone at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026 with the Malaysian debut of the all-new Hyundai IONIQ 6 N, the brand’s latest high-performance electric vehicle.

The company also officially launched the IONIQ 5 N, bringing Hyundai’s N performance division into the local market for the first time.

Stealing the spotlight was the IONIQ 6 N, an all-electric performance sedan that combines supercar-rivalling acceleration with everyday usability. Priced at RM449,888, the model is available on a built-to-order basis through selected Hyundai N dealerships nationwide.

Based on the streamlined IONIQ 6 platform, the new N variant takes things several steps further with a heavily upgraded powertrain and chassis package. Power comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup that delivers up to 650 PS when N Grin Boost is activated, allowing the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 257 km/h.

Unlike many performance EVs that sacrifice efficiency for outright speed, the IONIQ 6 N still offers a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 487 km, making it suitable for both spirited drives and daily commuting.

The car also benefits from a host of Hyundai N-exclusive technologies designed to recreate the emotional engagement of a traditional performance car. These include N e-Shift, which simulates gear changes of an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, N Active Sound+, N Torque Distribution, N Launch Control, N Drift Optimiser and an advanced Electronically Controlled Suspension system.

According to Hyundai, every N model is developed at its Namyang R&D Centre in South Korea before undergoing extensive testing at Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife, one of the world’s most demanding racing circuits.

The result is a performance-focused EV engineered around Hyundai N’s three core pillars: cornering capability, everyday usability and race-track readiness.

Alongside the IONIQ 6 N, Hyundai also launched the IONIQ 5 N in Malaysia at RM443,888. The high-performance electric crossover produces the same 650 PS output and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, while offering up to 448 km of WLTP range.

Both models represent Hyundai’s vision of a new generation of performance EVs that deliver excitement without compromising practicality.

Visitors attending KLIMS 2026 can experience the Hyundai N range firsthand at the Hyundai booth in MITEC from 12 to 21 June. The display also includes the Tucson, Santa Fe and Staria, alongside test drive opportunities and various activities for visitors.

Bookings for both the IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N are now open through authorised Hyundai N dealers in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Kuching.
