UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) recorded 4,856 vehicle sales in February 2026, bringing its year-to-date total to 9,556 units. The performance reflects continued demand for the brand’s core models, supported by an expanded product line-up and Toyota’s nationwide dealer and aftersales network.
During the March promotional period, customers can also take advantage of financing packages worth up to RM7,500, with monthly instalments starting from RM658 across selected models.
A key driver behind the early-year momentum is UMWT’s broader push to expand its hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) portfolio across several vehicle segments. The strategy focuses on gradually introducing electrification across different product categories rather than limiting it to premium offerings.

Within the B-segment sedan market, the hybrid line-up now includes the Toyota Vios Hybrid and Toyota Vios HEV GR Sport, bringing electrified efficiency to one of Malaysia’s most accessible passenger car segments.
The hybrid offering extends into the SUV space through the updated Toyota Corolla Cross HEV GR Sport, which combines hybrid efficiency with a sportier character while maintaining the practicality expected from a compact SUV.
At the premium end of the range, UMWT continues to strengthen its electrified portfolio with the Toyota Vellfire HEV luxury MPV and the Toyota Harrier HEV D-segment SUV. Both models bring hybrid powertrains into more upscale segments, pairing improved fuel efficiency with higher levels of comfort and refinement.
Together, these models demonstrate how Toyota’s Multi-Pathway strategy is being applied across different vehicle categories, progressively introducing electrification across sedans, SUVs, and MPVs rather than focusing on a single segment.
According to UMWT President Datuk Ravindran K., the company’s strategy focuses on offering customers multiple pathways towards electrified mobility while maintaining a strong ownership ecosystem.
New 4S Centre Opens in Penang
UMWT also expanded its physical network in February with the opening of the Prima Pearl 4S Centre on 9 February 2026.

Located in Bayan Lepas, the integrated facility combines Sales, Service and Body & Paint operations under one roof, improving convenience and service capacity for customers in the northern region.
The centre features:
- Four display vehicles
- Two delivery bays
- Ten general service bays
- Ten Body & Paint bays
The new outlet forms part of Toyota’s ongoing effort to strengthen its nationwide infrastructure and ensure long-term service support for customers.
Ownership Programmes and Festive Campaign
Beyond vehicle sales, UMWT continues to expand its ownership support programmes. The Toyota Service Savers initiative allows customers to manage routine maintenance costs through monthly payments starting from RM31, while Toyota Extend offers extended warranty coverage for selected models nationwide.
These initiatives aim to provide greater cost transparency and peace of mind throughout the ownership experience.

With Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaching, the company expects many Malaysians to prepare for long-distance travel as part of the festive season.
“Moments like this often remind us how important reliability and care are in everyday life,” said Ravindran. “When vehicles perform consistently and are properly supported, drivers can focus on what lies ahead with greater assurance.”
Guided by its Move Your World vision, UMW Toyota Motor says it will continue focusing on mobility solutions that make driving easier, safer, and more enjoyable for Malaysians.
