Continental has introduced two new tyre models, the EcoContact 6 and EcoContact 6Q, to the Malaysian market. These tyres are designed to support petrol, hybrid, and electric vehicles with improved fuel efficiency, extended driving range, and enhanced ride comfort.
The EcoContact 6 is engineered for low rolling resistance, using a high-tech silica compound to help reduce CO₂ emissions and fuel consumption. Its asymmetric rib design and sipe geometry provide better grip and handling on both wet and dry surfaces.
Building on the same platform, the EcoContact 6Q adds advanced noise reduction features. It uses Continental’s Advanced Green Chili 2.0 compound and a customised tread pattern that adapts to road conditions. The tyre maintains consistent road contact for improved stability and further lowers rolling resistance and cabin noise.

Both tyres are equipped with ContiSilent, a polyurethane foam layer that reduces interior noise by up to 9 dB(A), enhancing overall driving comfort.
According to Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia, the EcoContact 6 and 6Q are tailored to meet the growing local demand for more efficient and quieter tyres across all vehicle types.
The new tyres are available in sizes ranging from 15 to 21 inches and come with OE markings for BMW and Mercedes-Benz. They are now on sale through authorised Continental dealers and official online platforms including Shopee, TNG eWallet, and Lazada.
“At Continental, we constantly push the boundaries of tyre technology to enhance every journey with confidence. For Malaysian drivers, whether navigating city streets, cruising on highways, or embarking on long-distance journeys, the EcoContact 6 and 6Q are designed to offer comfort, efficiency, and safety for a quieter, smoother ride with extended range,” said Andrea Somorova, Managing Director of Continental Tyre Malaysia.
