PROTON has announced a strong start for the 2026 Proton S70, revealing that 7,157 bookings have been secured since order books opened on 11 February 2026.
To put that into perspective, that works out to roughly one booking every four minutes, showing that demand for the national carmaker’s C-segment sedan remains healthy as it enters the 2026 model year.
At the same time, the Proton S70 has also crossed another major milestone. Since making its debut in November 2023, a total of 40,112 units have been delivered, underlining the model’s growing presence on Malaysian roads and its role in reigniting interest in the sedan segment.

The S70 has been one of Proton’s more important products in recent years, offering buyers a modern sedan with sleek styling, respectable performance, and an attractive price point. In a market increasingly dominated by SUVs, the S70 has managed to carve out a solid following among Malaysians who still appreciate the comfort, driving dynamics, and practicality of a conventional sedan.
Powering the 2026 Proton S70 is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 150 PS and 226 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, giving the car a combination of brisk performance and everyday usability.
Beyond the powertrain, the S70’s appeal also lies in its spacious interior, range of connectivity features, and driver assistance systems, making it a well-rounded option for those seeking a family-friendly sedan with a more premium feel than its price tag might suggest.

Another factor helping to drive demand is Proton’s extensive aftersales network across Malaysia. The company currently operates 190 3S and 4S outlets, along with 77 Body & Paint centres nationwide. This wide footprint gives owners easier access to servicing, maintenance, and repair support, which remains a key consideration for many car buyers.
Proton has also continued to strengthen the ownership experience through initiatives such as its 1-Day Service Delivery programme, as well as relief vehicle support for customers whose cars require longer repair periods.

According to Proton Edar CEO Dato’ Ir. Abdul Rashid Musa, surpassing the 40,000-unit delivery mark since the model’s introduction is an important achievement for the company and reflects the confidence Malaysians continue to place in the S70.
With bookings continuing to build, the 2026 Proton S70 appears to be maintaining its momentum as one of the more compelling sedan choices in the local market. For buyers who want turbocharged performance, a generous equipment list, and the backing of a large nationwide service network, the S70 remains a strong contender in its segment.
