Following the launch of the fifth generation Lexus RX 350 Luxury (RM468,888) in May, Lexus Malaysia has announced the arrival of the 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport to Malaysian shores with price starting from RM498,888.
The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport boasts a new hybrid electric system consisting of a 2.4-litre turbo engine that is paired with an electric motor. The vehicle also boasts an eAxle rear unit integrated with a high output electric motor, inverter and reduction gearbox.
This advanced drive train is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering a total output of 202 kW of power and 460 Nm of torque. Power delivery to each wheel is controlled by DIRECT4, an exclusive new Lexus drive force technology.
To further provide the new RX 500h F Sport with its dynamic and sporty feel, the new suspension design features a Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) system where the rear wheels steer up to 4° either way depending on the speed of the vehicle.
At higher speeds, the rears adjust in phase with the front wheels to offer stability and confidence while at slower speeds, they oppose the direction to make turning into corners and tight spaces more effortless for greater driving pleasure.
In terms of design, the RX 500h F Sport features the latest version of Lexus’ signature spindle grille, flanked by a pair of jewel-like headlamps. At the rear, we have the new Lexus badging and LED Blade Taillamp. Also part of the package are 21-inch light alloy rims finished in matte black wrapped in 235/50R21 tyres.
The 2023 Lexus RX 500h F Sport rides on the GA-K (Global Architecture – K) platform, which offers improved rigidity for enhanced comfort, reassuring responsiveness and agility. Lexus engineers have also reduced the overall weight of the car using innovative assembly methods and utilising aluminium for the front wings.
Featuring an interior designed around both the Tazuna and Omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) concept, the 2023 Lexus RX 500h F SPORT features a luxurious cabin that provides driver and passenger a direct and emotional connection to the vehicle with all controls within easy reach.
While the seats are made with Ultrasuede upholstery made from plant-derived raw materials, the vehicle also sports Dark Spin aluminium ornamentation. As for the audio system, the new RX 500h F Sport is endowed with a Mark Levinson surround sound with 21-speaker and subwoofer system.
In terms of safety, the RX 500h F Sport arrives with Lexus Safety System+, which features a suite of safety and pre-collision systems designed to alert drivers and activate preventive measures to avoid accidents in daily driving situations.
The new RX 500h F Sport is also fitted with the e-Latch electronic door release system, an electronic system that replaces the internal door handle with a push-button
switch positioned next to the armrest in the door panel for smooth and easy access and exit from the vehicle.
Featuring 12 ultrasonic sensors and four cameras, the new RX 500h F Sport’s Lexus Teammate Advanced Park system makes parking a cinch. Not only does it warn of near objects, it assists through automatic control of steering, shift operation and braking to take the stress away from parking in narrow spaces.
For the Malaysian market, Lexus Malaysia is offering the RX 500h F Sport in a choice of four colours, which are White Nova Glass, Sonic Iridium, Graphite Black Glass Flake and Sonic Copper.
Last but not least, the Lexus RX 500h F Sport comes with a warranty coverage for five years with unlimited mileage while the Hybrid Battery Pack enjoys an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty, extendable for an additional two years as an option.
