The trucks offer best-in-class comfort, reliability, safety, superior handling and fuel economy, enabling haulage companies to make measurable positive impact on their profitability.
“The Volvo FH series is our latest premium flagship product that we believe will deliver exceptional benefits to our Malaysian and regional customers. We have a long history in Malaysia and the addition of the Volvo FH to our product line not only strengthens our current leading position but also puts us in a good place to take advantage of future opportunities in long-haul transport,” said Mats Nilsson, Managing Director of Volvo Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
With superior torque and power, the Volvo FH series is highly capable of handling deliveries of over-sized loads over long distances. Equipped with technology that creates ultimate onboard safety, a more economical driveline and high uptime, the Volvo FH series pushes the limits on what a premium truck can offer.
In conjunction with the Volvo FH series truck showcase, Volvo Trucks is also hosting an important panel discussion on the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and its opportunities and threats to transport companies and industry.
This panel session will be held on 19th May 2017, the second day of MCVE 2017, from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm. The panel of speakers who will be participating include Mr Mats Nilsson, Managing Director, Volvo Malaysia Sdn Bhd; Ms Renuka Rajaratnam, Consulting Analyst, Public Policy, Economics and Politics, The Economist Intelligence Unit; Mr R. Veejendran, Under Secretary Logistic & Land Transport Division, Ministry of Transport Malaysia; Dato’ Ir C. C. Foong, Consulting Engineer, JPJ Malaysia; and En Nazari Hj Akhbar, President, Association of Malaysian Hauliers.
Speaking about the objective of the panel session, Nilsson said, “Envisioned as a single market and production base, the AEC represents a huge potential for promoting cross-border trade and for connecting economies, businesses and people. One area that it will have the greatest impact on is transportation and logistics. Furthermore, ASEAN also lies on one of the “One Belt, One Road” trading routes identified by the Chinese Government and where massive investments have been channelled into.”
“There is no doubt that AEC integration will bring on different challenges and opportunities for different players in the transport and logistics industry. Thus, there is a lot to discuss about and our objective with this session is to create dialogues and enhance knowledge sharing.”
“For Volvo Trucks, although we are not new in providing transport solutions for long-haul regional distribution for customers in trade blocs such as the European Union, our continued ambition is to be the world’s leader in sustainable and smart transport solutions. This means we must also continuously have the right products, engineers, technology, innovation, research, testings and dedication to be even more future-proof.”
“ASEAN is at the cusp of transition where economic integration is concerned and we are excited and ready. The Volvo FH series is one of the most valuable products in our offering for regional long-haul distribution. It definitely puts us in an advantaged position to capture the future cross-border opportunities that will emerge under this regional integration,” concluded Nilsson.
