TQ WULING has officially entered the Malaysian electric vehicle market with the launch of the locally assembled Bingo EV, a compact electric hatchback aimed squarely at affordability and urban practicality.

Offered in two variants, the Bingo EV is priced at RM67,800 for the Pro and RM72,800 for the Max. Early buyers benefit from a RM5,000 cash rebate, effectively reducing prices to RM62,800 and RM67,800 respectively, positioning the Bingo EV among the most accessible EVs currently on sale in Malaysia.

Two Variants

The Bingo EV Pro uses a 31.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a claimed range of up to 333 km (CLTC), while the Bingo EV Max features a larger 37.9 kWh battery delivering up to 410 km (CLTC). Both variants are powered by a front-mounted 50 kW electric motor, producing 68 PS and 150 Nm, driving the front wheels through a single-speed transmission.

DC fast charging allows the battery to recharge from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes, while AC charging takes approximately 4.5 hours (Pro) and 5.5 hours (Max) for a full charge.

Powering the Bingo EV is SAIC-GM-Wuling’s MAGIC Battery system, designed with a strong emphasis on real-world safety. The battery is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance and has undergone extensive testing, including thermal, impact, and penetration tests. The system incorporates multi-layer protection to minimise fire risk and maintain consistent performance over time.

Measuring 3,950 mm long with a 2,560 mm wheelbase, the Bingo EV is compact enough for city use while offering respectable interior space. Its design blends retro-inspired curves with modern EV details, including X-shaped LED lighting signatures, a closed-off front grille and a two-tone exterior finish. Malaysian buyers can choose from Milky White, Neon Blue or Lavender Purple, all paired with a black roof.

Inside, the cabin features a dual-tone interior, leatherette upholstery and a minimalist layout highlighted by dual 10.25-inch screens for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Practicality is a key strength, with 15 storage compartments and a boot capacity ranging from 395 litres to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded.

Safety and Equipment

Malaysia is the first market globally to receive the Bingo EV with six airbags as standard across both variants. Other safety features include ABS, EBD, ESC, TPMS, blind spot warning, and a low-speed pedestrian alert.
