TQ Wuling, a new electric vehicle (EV) brand introduced by Tan Chong Group, is gearing up to launch its first model in Malaysia—the compact and affordable Bingo EV.
Officially showcased at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, the Bingo EV is expected to hit Malaysian roads in the fourth quarter of the year, offering a practical and budget-friendly alternative for city dwellers looking to make the switch to electric mobility.
As part of a strategic collaboration between Tan Chong Motor and China’s SAIC-GM-Wuling, the Bingo EV will be assembled locally at the company’s Segambut plant. This move ensures competitive pricing, with the vehicle expected to be priced under RM100,000.
The Bingo EV will be offered in two battery configurations:
- Long Range Model: Features a 31.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, delivering up to 273 km of real-world range (WLTP).
- Premium Range Model: Equipped with a 37.9 kWh LFP battery, offering a longer driving range of up to 336 km (WLTP).
Both variants use a 50 kW motor producing 150 Nm of torque, with top speeds of 120 km/h and 130 km/h respectively. These specs make the Bingo ideal for daily commuting and city driving.
The Bingo EV supports both AC and DC charging. AC charging from 20% to full takes between 5.5 to 6.5 hours, depending on the variant. More impressively, it can recharge from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes using DC fast charging—delivering speed and convenience for on-the-go users.
The Bingo EV measures 3,950 mm in length and features a 2,560 mm wheelbase—offering a nimble drive with a small footprint perfect for tight city streets. Its rounded, retro-modern exterior is complemented by oval headlights and smooth lines.
Inside, the cabin features twin 10.25-inch displays for instrumentation and infotainment, premium-feel materials like synthetic leather, and user-friendly touches such as a rotary gear selector, multiple storage compartments, and rear seats that fold flat to provide up to 790 liters of cargo space.
Safety package includes:
- Dual airbags
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- ABS with EBD
- Rear parking sensors and a camera
- ISOFIX mounts for child seats
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
It also offers Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Departure Warning.
