Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today announced the availability of the new all-electric luxury SUV variant, the all-new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC SUV with an asking price of RM699,888.
Fitted with a 108.4 kWh lithium-ion battery with a 615 km maximum range and an output of 400 kW, the EQS SUV also comes with the 4MATIC AWD system which has an electric drive train (eATS) on the rear and front axle. The Torque Shift function intelligently and continuously distributes the drive torques between the front and the rear electric machine.
In terms of performance, the EQS 580 SUV here delivers a maximum output of 544 hp, 858 Nm of peak torque, and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds while hitting a top speed of 210km/h. Where charging is concerned, 22kW AC charging takes 5 hours and 30 minutes while 220kw DC fast charging takes 31 minutes to fully charge the EQS SUV.
The EQS SUV is the latest addition to Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s luxury all-electric EQ portfolio, as the pinnacle among the eight model variants spanning across all vehicle segments. It seamlessly combines the cherished features of the EQS with the adaptability of an SUV that can comfortably seat seven passengers.
The EQS SUV is the first all-electric luxury SUV from Mercedes-Benz on the purposely designed electric vehicle platform EVA2. If we look at the design, the front features are combined to create a ‘Black Panel’ unit while the headlamps are connected by a light band and the deep black radiator grille with a three-dimensional star pattern (Mercedes-Benz pattern) to form the face.
While the model comes with the Digital Light system with light band as standard, the rear features LED taillights with a 3D effect. Also standard are the 22-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels that are painted in high-glass black with a high-sheen finish.
The new EQS SUV shares the long wheelbase (3,210 millimetres) with the EQS sedan but is over 20 centimetres higher. A third seat row with two additional individual seats and extensive comfort features for all passengers is available as standard.
With the second seat row folded down, the luggage compartment offers a generous capacity of up to 2,100 litres. With the third seat row, the available boot space is still generous, amounting to up to 800 litres behind the second seat row and 2020 litres when they are folded down. If all seven seats are used, a volume of 195 litres remains behind the third seat row.
The seats in the EQS SUV fold up from the load floor mechanically. With the seats folded, the floor is level. In combination with the third seat row, an EASY ENTRY function is standard for the second seat row. For easier access all the way to the rear, the backrest moves forward beyond the usual adjustment range, by a total of up to 290 millimetres.
The list of standard equipment include:
- Ambient lighting on seat including
- MBUX Hyperscreen
- contour lighting
- 4-way lumbar support
- Seat heating
- Luxury head restraint
- Climate-controlled seats
- Multicontour seats with massage functions
Three charging programmes are offered in the EQS SUV – Standard, Home and Work. In these, parameters such as departure time, climate control and maximum charge level can be preset.
The Home and Work charging programmes can be activated based on location. This means that they are switched on automatically as soon as the vehicle is parked at a charging point at the positions stored in the system.
Last but not least, the EQS SUV comes equipped with Driving Assistance Package Plus. The assistance package includes DISTRONIC PLUS, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Steering Assist, Evasive manoeuvre support, PRE-SAFE® Impulse Side, and rear sensors for the lane departure assistant.
