Honda Malaysia has introduced the CR-V Dual-Tone Edition, a special edition model limited to just 300 units nationwide. The launch commemorates Honda’s 25 years in Malaysia and the enduring popularity of the CR-V, the brand’s longest-running model in the country.
For the first time, the CR-V is available with a dual-tone exterior finish, featuring a contrasting black roof, side pillars, and mirrors. The Dual-Tone Edition is offered for the E and V variants, maintaining their existing specifications while adding a more distinctive and premium look.
Power comes from the familiar 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine, delivering the same balance of performance and efficiency found in the standard CR-V range.
Customers can choose between two exterior colours — Ignite Red Metallic and Platinum White Pearl — priced at RM169,900 for the E variant and RM181,900 for the V variant. The model is launched as part of Honda Malaysia’s ongoing 25th Anniversary “Because of You” campaign, which celebrates the brand’s milestone and long-standing customer support.
Since local assembly began in 2003 at Honda’s Melaka plant, the CR-V has been a cornerstone of the brand’s success, with nearly 149,000 units sold nationwide. Each generation of the SUV has introduced new technologies and features, reflecting Honda’s efforts to meet changing customer needs.
Notably, the 4th-generation CR-V (2013) established the SUV’s “Premium Smart” positioning, while the 5th-generation model (2017) became the first in Southeast Asia to feature Honda SENSING and a turbocharged engine.
The 6th-generation CR-V, launched in 2023, added the e:HEV RS hybrid variant, marking Honda Malaysia’s first locally assembled hybrid mid-size SUV. To date, more than 11,300 units of the latest generation are on Malaysian roads, giving Honda a 36% share of the mid-size SUV segment in 2024.
The CR-V has also earned multiple industry awards, including Allianz DSF.my SUV of the Year, Carlist.my & Wapcar.my People’s Choice Awards, CarPlus.my Editor’s Choice, Malaysia Car of the Year 2024, and StarCarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards.
