Honda Hybrid Models Now Get 10-Year Battery Warranty with Unlimited Mileage

Honda Malaysia has strengthened its hybrid ownership proposition by introducing an extended 10-year warranty for hybrid batteries and selected components, effective 1 May 2026. The move underscores the brand’s confidence in its electrified technology while enhancing long-term value for customers.

The new warranty applies to all newly purchased Honda e:HEV models and comes with unlimited mileage coverage. This includes the full lineup of locally available hybrids such as the City e:HEV, City Hatchback e:HEV, HR-V e:HEV, Civic e:HEV, and the New CR-V e:HEV.

This latest initiative is part of Honda Malaysia’s ongoing “Hybrid Done Right” campaign, which runs from 1 April to 30 June 2026. The campaign aims to highlight the durability, real-world efficiency, and reliability of Honda’s e:HEV technology, while also offering customers added incentives and engagement activities.

Beyond new buyers, Honda Malaysia is also extending the benefits to existing customers. Owners of current e:HEV models, as well as previous-generation i-DCD hybrids such as the Jazz, City, and HR-V, will now enjoy an upgraded hybrid battery warranty from 8 years to 10 years with unlimited mileage.

Additionally, selected hybrid components—previously covered for 5 years—will now also receive extended protection of up to 10 years.

Importantly, the enhanced warranty coverage is transferable. Second-hand owners of Honda e:HEV and i-DCD models will also be eligible for the extended hybrid battery and components warranty, valid up to the 10th year from the vehicle’s original registration. This move significantly boosts resale value and reinforces buyer confidence in Honda’s hybrid offerings.

The introduction of a decade-long warranty aligns Honda Malaysia with growing consumer expectations around electrified vehicle ownership, particularly in areas such as battery longevity and maintenance costs. By offering unlimited mileage coverage, the brand is also addressing concerns among high-usage drivers who depend on consistent long-term performance.

Honda Malaysia continues to position its e:HEV system as a practical and proven hybrid solution, combining strong fuel efficiency with responsive performance. The system, which primarily operates as an electric drive with the engine acting as a generator in most conditions, has gained traction among Malaysian buyers seeking a balance between electrification and everyday usability.

Supporting this initiative is Honda’s established nationwide after-sales network, ensuring accessibility to service centres, trained technicians, and genuine parts. This infrastructure plays a key role in sustaining customer confidence in hybrid ownership over the long term.

With this enhancement, Honda Malaysia not only reinforces its leadership in the hybrid segment but also delivers tangible ownership benefits that extend well beyond the point of purchase.
