JETOUR Malaysia recently launched the new T2 i-DM, bringing a plug-in hybrid powertrain to its rugged T2 SUV at RM162,800. The T2 i-DM combines a 1.5-litre TGDi hybrid engine, 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and dual electric motors to deliver a combined 265kW of power and 610Nm of torque.
More importantly for buyers considering a PHEV, Jetour claims the T2 i-DM can travel up to 1,200km on a combined range, while offering more than 100km of pure electric driving range.
1.5L turbo PHEV with 265kW and 610Nm
At the heart of the T2 i-DM is Jetour’s Intelligent Dual-Mode hybrid system, which combines petrol and electric power depending on driving conditions.
The system operates across five scenarios: EV Drive for residential and low-speed driving, Series Hybrid for urban traffic, Dual Power Boost for overtaking and hill climbing, Parallel Hybrid for highway cruising, and Regenerative Braking to recover energy while braking or travelling downhill.
The SUV gets an 18.4kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which is protected by an IP68-rated casing and underbody protection. The battery also features high-temperature resistance and rapid high-voltage power cut-off.
For added practicality, the T2 i-DM supports up to 3.3kW of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), allowing compatible electrical devices to be powered from the vehicle.
How quickly can the T2 i-DM charge?
There are three charging options. With a 57kW DC fast charger, the battery can go from 30% to 80% state of charge in 27 minutes or less. Using a 6.6kW AC wallbox, a 30–100% charge takes three hours or less, while a 2.2kW portable charger takes six hours or less for the same 30–100% charge.
Jetour is also offering an early-bird charging package for the first 2,000 registered owners. Buyers can choose between a complimentary 7kW AC wallbox charger with installation or RM2,000 worth of ChargeSini charging credit. A complimentary V2L adapter cable is also included, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
Still looks like a T2
Despite the electrified powertrain, the T2 i-DM retains the rugged design that defines the T2 range. Exterior highlights include LED headlamps with Jetour’s signature wordlight, 20-inch Trailblazer alloy wheels, door mirrors with reversing mode and a rear-mounted spare tyre.
The cabin gets a 15.6-inch multimedia display with a dedicated hybrid interface, together with a Sony 12-speaker premium audio system and 50W wireless smartphone charging.
Other equipment includes memory front seats with welcome function, ventilated front seats, an illuminated crystal gear knob, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and multicolour ambient lighting.
Level 2 ADAS included
Safety equipment includes a Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist Intervention, Blind Spot Detection, Integrated Cruise Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Intelligent High Beam.
The T2 i-DM also gets six airbags, a high-strength steel body structure, a panoramic view monitoring system and tyre pressure monitoring.
What does the warranty cover?
Jetour is offering fairly extensive warranty coverage with the T2 i-DM. The vehicle comes with a 7-year/150,000km warranty, while the high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years/160,000km.
The 1.5-litre engine receives an unusually long 10-year/1,000,000km warranty, while owners also get five free service sessions, with the respective periods subject to whichever comes first.
There is also a Jetour Insurance Programme covering the 7kW AC wallbox charger for up to RM5,000, together with third-party personal liability coverage of up to RM50,000 relating to use or operation of the EV charger.
For the first 2,000 registered T2 i-DM owners, Special Perils Coverage will also be offered as part of the launch campaign, or until 28 February 2027, whichever comes first.

That being said, the Jetour T2 i-DM is priced at RM162,800. Jetour is also offering interest rates from as low as 1.68%, subject to terms and conditions.
With its combination of a rugged SUV design, more than 100km of electric driving capability, a claimed 1,200km combined range and 265kW/610Nm of combined output, the T2 i-DM gives the T2 a substantially different proposition from the conventional petrol-powered model.
For buyers looking for a single SUV that can handle daily electric driving while retaining the longer-distance flexibility of a petrol engine, the T2 i-DM is now Jetour Malaysia’s electrified answer.
