Proton e.MAS has launched e.MAS Impianku, a nationwide AI-powered design contest that gives Malaysians the chance to create their dream electric vehicle and win a personalised 3D-printed model of their design.
Organised by Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), a wholly owned subsidiary of Proton, the contest runs from 19 October to 30 November 2026. Participants can use generative AI tools to develop their own Proton e.MAS concepts, covering everything from exterior styling to features and technology.
The contest comes as Proton e.MAS expands its presence in Malaysia’s electrified vehicle market. PRO-NET says the e.MAS 5 is Malaysia’s No. 1 EV model in 2026, while the e.MAS 7 PHEV is the country’s best-selling plug-in hybrid for the year.
According to PRO-NET CEO Zhang Qiang, the campaign aims to give Malaysians a platform to express what they want from future electric vehicles, while helping the brand understand their design preferences and expectations.
How to enter e.MAS Impianku
The public contest is open to Malaysian residents aged 18 and above. Participants need to visit protonemasimpianku.com, select the Open Category in the submission form, copy the suggested AI prompt from the website and customise it using a generative AI platform of their choice.
Once the design is ready, participants can upload it to the microsite and complete the submission form.

Eligible entries will appear in an online gallery, where the public can vote for their favourites from 5 to 13 December 2026. The 20 designs with the highest number of votes will proceed to final judging.
Eight winners will be announced at a PRO-NET event in January 2027. Three grand-prize winners will receive approximately 10-inch 3D-printed models of their designs, while five elite-prize winners will receive miniature 3D-printed collectibles.
University students get their own category
PRO-NET is also running a separate e.MAS Impianku University Students Edition for students aged 18 and above enrolled at recognised higher education institutions in Malaysia.
The entry period is the same, from 19 October to 30 November 2026. Students must select the University Category on the contest microsite, use a generative AI platform to create their designs and submit their entries online.
Unlike the public contest, university entries will be assessed entirely by a panel of judges, without public voting.
The university category offers three cash prizes: RM1,000 for the grand-prize winner, RM600 for second place and RM400 for third place. Another 12 participants will receive exclusive Proton e.MAS merchandise under the Creative Merit Awards.
With both categories, e.MAS Impianku gives Malaysians an opportunity to experiment with AI-generated automotive design while putting their own ideas about future electric vehicles into the spotlight.
