Shortly after unveiling the R1300 GSA, BMW Motorrad Malaysia has officially launched the all-new BMW R 1300 RT, a premium touring motorcycle that blends high-performance engineering with long-distance comfort and state-of-the-art technology.
The arrival of the new BMW R 1300 RT marks a significant evolution in the brand’s legendary RT lineup. Lighter, smarter, and more dynamic, the touring bike is powered by BMW’s most powerful boxer engine yet — a 1,300cc twin-cylinder unit producing 145 hp and 149 Nm of torque. Despite its enhanced output, BMW’s ShiftCam technology ensures fuel efficiency remains a strong suit.
There will be five variants with prices as listed below:
- BMW R1300 RT Alpine White – RM167,000
- BMW R1300 RT Triple Black Blackstorm Metallic – RM170,000
- BMW R1300 RT Impulse Racing Blue Metallic – RM173,000
- BMW R1300 RT Triple Black Limited Edition – RM177,000
- BMW R1300 RT Impulse Racing Blue Metallic Limited Edition – RM180,000
“The new R 1300 RT embodies everything a modern touring motorcycle should be — refined, intelligent, and designed for riders who demand more,” said Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia. “It brings cutting-edge tech and unmatched comfort to those seeking freedom on the open road.”
The R 1300 RT features a sleeker design with improved aerodynamics, a flatter tank ramp, and reduced front fairing for better visibility. Available in Alpine White as standard, two additional variants are offered — the stylish Triple Black in Blackstorm Metallic and the sporty Impulse in Racing Blue Metallic.
Each variant includes unique design elements, from forged handlebars to dynamic windshields and exclusive slipstream deflectors. Across all versions, rider and passenger ergonomics have been refined, with wider handlebars, repositioned seats, and improved luggage access enhancing both control and touring comfort.
BMW has equipped the R 1300 RT with a robust package of rider aids and electronic systems. This includes adaptive LED headlights with cornering lights, Dynamic Traction Control, Engine Drag Torque Control, and the BMW Integral ABS Pro system. Riding Modes Pro — including Rain, Road, Eco, Dynamic, and Dynamic Pro — come as standard.
For added comfort, features like heated seats and grips, a 10.25-inch full-colour TFT display with full smartphone connectivity, and an upgraded audio system are included. The optional Audio Pro system enhances the riding experience further, with four-channel output and premium-grade speakers.
With an entirely reengineered EVO Telelever and EVO Paralever suspension setup, the R 1300 RT offers exceptional handling and feedback. Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) further refines suspension performance, allowing riders to switch between comfort and dynamic modes based on their riding style.
Clutchless shifting is made possible via the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), which offers both manual and fully automatic gear changes — a first for BMW touring models.
To celebrate its debut in Malaysia, BMW Motorrad has introduced two Limited Edition variants: the Triple Black Limited Edition and the Impulse Limited Edition, each restricted to just five units nationwide. Both come equipped with the full Comfort Package, variable luggage systems, and the premium Audio Pro setup.
