BMW Group Malaysia has introduced the new locally assembled BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport, bringing a sportier appearance, enhanced driving dynamics and more advanced technology to BMW’s compact four-door coupé lineup.
Replacing the BMW 218 Gran Coupé Sport launched in June 2025, the new M Sport variant arrives as a limited allocation model, with only 50 units available in its first batch.
Positioned as the more dynamic version of the 2 Series Gran Coupé, the BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport gains a range of upgrades including Adaptive M Suspension, upgraded driver assistance systems, M Sport styling elements and additional premium cabin features.
The new BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport is priced at:
- BMW 218 Gran Coupe M Sport – RM192,800 (on-the-road price without insurance)
- BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport with 4-Year BMW Service & Repair Inclusive – RM204,800
The model is also available with BMW financing packages, starting from RM2,441 per month through BMW Easy Drive Financing or RM2,284 per month through Straight-Line Financing.
More Aggressive M Sport Styling
The BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport separates itself from the standard Sport variant with a more aggressive exterior design.
At the front, it features the illuminated BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille, paired with Adaptive LED headlights featuring BMW’s signature four-eyed lighting graphic. The wider kidney grille, central lower air intake and vertical side air intakes give the compact Gran Coupé a more planted and athletic stance.
The M Sport treatment continues along the side with:
- 18-inch M light alloy wheels Style 975M Bicolour
- Extended Individual High-Gloss Shadowline trim
- Black exterior mirror elements
- Sportier M design accents
At the rear, the addition of an M Sport rear diffuser gives the vehicle a more performance-focused appearance.
Measuring 4.55 metres in length, the BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport retains the same wheelbase as before while maintaining its sleek four-door coupé proportions.
Interior
Inside, the cabin receives a significant upgrade with a more driver-focused layout and improved digital connectivity.
The centrepiece is BMW’s Curved Display, combining:
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- 10.7-inch touchscreen display
- BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect
The M Sport package adds a three-spoke M leather steering wheel, M Anthracite headliner and illuminated Aluminium Graphite interior trim.

Despite its sporty profile, practicality remains a key strength, with the Gran Coupé offering 430 litres of boot space.
156hp Turbo Engine with Paddle Shifters
Power comes from BMW’s familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, operating on the Miller cycle for improved efficiency. The engine produces 156hp and 230Nm of torque, delivered to the front wheels through a seven-speed Steptronic dual-clutch transmission, now equipped with paddle shifters for a more engaging driving experience.
Performance figures include a 0-100km/h time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 230km/h. While the engine remains unchanged from the BMW 218 Gran Coupé Sport, BMW has enhanced the driving experience through chassis upgrades and suspension improvements.
Adaptive M Suspension
The biggest mechanical upgrade for the M Sport variant is the inclusion of Adaptive M Suspension, allowing the vehicle to adjust between sporty handling and improved comfort depending on driving conditions.
The chassis features:
- Single-joint MacPherson strut front suspension
- Three-link rear axle
- Optimised axle kinematics
- Enhanced stabilisers
- Directly controlled wheel slip limitation (ARB)
These updates are designed to improve steering response, cornering stability and overall ride refinement.
Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The BMW 218 Gran Coupé M Sport also receives upgraded driver assistance technology through Driving Assistant Plus.
