The Modenas Z15GT has secured its first victory in the Petronas Sprinta Pro-Am Cup at the 2026 Petronas MAM Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, just eight days after claiming its maiden podium in the category.

Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Firdaus Mohd Hamdan (#98) delivered the milestone at Round 7, held at Petronas Sepang International Circuit’s South Track on 18 October.

Starting seventh on the grid, Firdaus completed the six-lap race in 8 minutes 22.674 seconds to take the win. Md Haziq Rosmaza (#15) and Md Harith Rosmaza (#5) were next in the official classification, following the exclusion of two competitors for technical infringements.

The victory follows Firdaus’ performance at LYL International Karting Circuit on 10 October, where he charged from 16th on the grid to finish second and secure the Z15GT’s first-ever Pro-Am podium.

“Winning just eight days after our first podium is something I couldn’t have imagined. This victory belongs to everyone in the team who has worked so hard to get us here,” said Firdaus.

Three Z15GTs finish in the top eight

The Sepang result also highlighted the performance of other Z15GT entries. Fellow Raynorton Motorsport rider Md Amirul Affiq Ahmad Solikhin (#52) finished fifth, while Md Afiq Hamdan (#90) took eighth place.

With three Z15GT motorcycles among the top eight classified finishers, the result marks a significant step forward for the model’s campaign in the national championship.

Raynorton Motorsport team principal Syafie credited the team’s collective efforts, including its riders, mechanics and support crew, for the back-to-back results.

The achievement is also notable for an independent Malaysian racing outfit competing against established machinery in the Pro-Am category.

Modenas backs local racing talent

The victory adds to Modenas’ ongoing involvement in the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship, where the manufacturer supports four independent racing teams competing with the Z15GT.

The programme is part of its efforts to develop local racing talent and increase the presence of Malaysian-developed motorcycles in competitive motorsports.

Modenas CEO Roslan Roskan said the win was an encouraging milestone for both the Z15GT and the local racing community, crediting Firdaus and Raynorton Motorsport for their achievement.

With the championship heading towards its season finale, the Sepang result gives the Z15GT teams fresh momentum after delivering their first podium and first Pro-Am victory within just eight days.
