DENZA Malaysia is set to launch the all-new DENZA B8 in Malaysia next week, marking the brand’s entry into the luxury off-road SUV segment and its first plug-in hybrid model for the local market.
Positioned as a premium electrified SUV with genuine off-road capability, the DENZA B8 combines BYD’s latest hybrid and chassis technologies with a luxury-focused cabin and futuristic styling.
At the core of the B8 is BYD’s DMO (Dual Mode Off-Road) Super Hybrid platform, which pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with dual electric motors and Blade Battery technology. The system delivers up to 450 kW and 760 Nm of torque, while offering up to 115 km of pure electric driving range and a claimed combined range of up to 1,040 km (NEDC).
Unlike conventional hybrid systems focused mainly on efficiency, the DMO platform was developed to balance performance, off-road capability, long-distance usability, and refinement within a single integrated setup. The system can also switch seamlessly between Pure EV, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid driving modes depending on driving conditions.
The B8 also introduces BYD’s DiSus-P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control Suspension system to Malaysia. The adaptive suspension setup continuously adjusts damping and body control in real time based on terrain, speed, and vehicle movement to improve both ride comfort and stability across on-road and off-road conditions.
Visually, the DENZA B8 adopts what the brand calls a “Starship Mecha” design language, featuring sharp LED daytime running lights, a bold SUV silhouette, and futuristic styling details aimed at giving the SUV a stronger road presence.
Inside, the cabin focuses heavily on luxury and refinement, featuring a driver-oriented layout, available Nappa leather upholstery, and a standard Devialet 18-speaker premium audio system across the range.
The DENZA B8 is expected to target buyers looking for an alternative to traditional premium SUVs from established European brands, particularly those seeking electrified performance combined with luxury and off-road capability.
Ahead of its official launch, the DENZA B8 will make its first public appearance in Malaysia from 22 to 24 May 2026 at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Registration of interest has also officially opened for Malaysian customers.
