Allianz General Boosts Protection For Riders And Drivers With New Motor Coverage Deals

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad is stepping up its road safety push with enhanced personal accident protection for both motorcyclists and car owners, offering more value and wider peace of mind for Malaysians on the move.

Running from 3 March to 31 December 2026, the insurer is introducing two key initiatives – higher complimentary accident coverage for motorcycle policyholders, and a special RM5 add-on protection plan for private car owners.

According to Allianz General Chief Executive Officer Sean Wang, the move is part of the company’s effort to make better protection more accessible for everyday road users.

For motorcyclists, Allianz General is now offering 2.5 times more complimentary Road Accident Coverage when customers purchase or renew an Allianz Motorcycle Plus policy, whether under Comprehensive or Third Party coverage.

That means eligible policyholders and their pillion riders will now receive RM25,000 in coverage for death or permanent disability caused by road accidents, up from the standard RM10,000, and all at no additional cost.

The offer applies to motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 250cc, or 12,000 watts for electric two-wheelers.

It is a meaningful upgrade, especially in a market like Malaysia where motorcycles remain one of the most common forms of daily transport, but also one of the most exposed when it comes to road risks. By increasing the benefit amount, Allianz is clearly targeting a segment that often needs stronger financial protection but may not always prioritise it.

Car owners are not left out either.

Customers who purchase or renew an Allianz Private Car Comprehensive policy during the same campaign period can also add on Drive Guard coverage for just RM5 per year.

For that small sum, Drive Guard brings a surprisingly broad layer of personal accident protection. The add-on provides up to RM50,000 for death or permanent disablement due to a road accident, along with hospital income of RM50 per day for up to 60 days.

It also includes medical expense coverage of up to RM2,000, as well as a bereavement allowance of RM2,500.

More importantly, the protection is not limited to just the driver, as Allianz says the plan is designed to also support passengers, adding a practical safety net for families and daily commuters alike.

In a market where many motorists still view insurance mainly as a requirement for road tax renewal, Allianz General’s latest campaign is a reminder that the right coverage can do far more than just protect the vehicle itself.

Whether it is a motorcyclist commuting through city traffic or a family travelling in a private car, accidents can bring financial strain well beyond repair bills. Medical costs, hospital stays, long-term disability, and even loss of income are all real risks that often go overlooked until it is too late.

By keeping the pricing low and the added value clear, Allianz is making a strong case for Malaysians to look beyond basic coverage and think more seriously about personal protection on the road.
