Chery Malaysia has outlined its product and network direction for 2026, with the TIGGO SUV line remaining the backbone of its growth strategy while Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology takes on a larger role in the brand’s sales mix.

The company’s Malaysian journey began in 2023 with the launch of the OMODA 5 and the range-topping TIGGO 8 PRO, establishing an SUV-focused approach from the outset. The lineup expanded in 2024 with the arrival of the TIGGO 7 PRO, followed by the brand’s first fully electric model, the OMODA E5, marking its entry into the electrified vehicle space.

Momentum continued in 2025 as Chery introduced the TIGGO Cross in both turbocharged petrol and hybrid forms, alongside the debut of its CSH powertrain. The later introduction of the TIGGO 7 PHEV and TIGGO 8 PHEV brought plug-in hybrid options into the range, giving the TIGGO family one of the widest powertrain spreads in its segment – spanning internal combustion, hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.

Electrified models are already gaining traction. CSH-equipped vehicles accounted for 21% of Chery’s total sales last year, and the company expects that figure to rise to 30% in 2026 as Malaysian buyers show stronger interest in hybrid technology.

The TIGGO range has also become increasingly central to the brand’s overall performance. Its contribution to total volume grew from 16% in 2023 to 37% in 2024, before reaching 66% in 2025. Combined sales of the TIGGO and OMODA series helped Chery close last year with 12,930 units, bringing cumulative deliveries since its return to Malaysia to 30,073 units.

Product expansion will continue this year. Following the January 2026 debut of the entry-level TIGGO 8, a new flagship luxury SUV is scheduled for the second quarter. Two additional models are planned for the third quarter – one positioned as a more performance- and versatility-focused offering, and another described as a more youthful, design-led model aimed at style-conscious buyers. A further launch in the final quarter will showcase the latest evolution of CSH technology, underlining the brand’s push towards electrification.

Beyond products, Chery is shifting its attention to improving ownership experience. Instead of aggressively increasing outlet numbers, the company is prioritising upgrades to its existing network, which currently stands at 59 sales centres, 54 aftersales facilities and 25 body and paint outlets nationwide. The move is intended to deliver better service consistency and higher customer satisfaction.

Part of this upgrade includes the introduction of the brand’s global Generation 4 showroom design. The first Malaysian outlet to adopt the new retail identity is Chery Perai in Penang, featuring a more premium layout, updated corporate logo, black steel structural elements and distinctive blue façade lighting. The new concept will be rolled out progressively across future 3S and 4S centres.

The brand’s recent product push has also translated into industry recognition. At the Malaysia Car of the Year 2025 awards, the TIGGO Cross HEV was named Crossover xEV of the Year (Below RM120,000), while the TIGGO 8 PHEV won the Most Energy Efficient Vehicle title, reinforcing Chery’s emphasis on electrified powertrains and efficiency.

With a broader SUV portfolio, a higher hybrid sales target and a revamped retail experience, Chery Malaysia is positioning the TIGGO line and CSH technology as the key pillars of its next growth phase.
