PRO-NET, a subsidiary of PROTON, has officially introduced the locally produced 2026 Proton e.MAS 7 for the Malaysian market, marking the next phase of updates for the brand’s all-electric SUV.
The latest model year brings targeted feature enhancements focused on convenience and safety, while maintaining its position as one of the country’s most accessible electric vehicles.
According to PRO-NET, the 2026 updates are the result of customer feedback and local usage requirements, further strengthening the e.MAS 7’s appeal as a practical, everyday EV for Malaysian drivers.
What’s New for 2026
e.MAS 7 Prime
The Prime variant now gains a powered tailgate, allowing the boot to be opened or closed via a button or key fob. This addition improves day-to-day usability, particularly when loading items with hands full.
e.MAS 7 Premium
The Premium variant receives a significant upgrade to its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding three new safety technologies:
- Evasive Manoeuvre Assist (EMA): Assists steering during emergency avoidance situations to help reduce collision risk.
- Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA): Detects and warns of approaching vehicles from the sides, enhancing safety at junctions and intersections.
- Active Lane Change Assist (ALCA): Supports safer lane changes by monitoring surrounding traffic and intervening with steering assistance when required.
These additions enhance the Premium variant’s active safety suite, positioning it as a more comprehensive option for buyers prioritising driver assistance technology.
