Jetour Auto Malaysia has officially begun local assembly of its Dashing and VT9 SUV models at the Berjaya Assembly Sdn. Bhd. (B-Assembly) plant in Tampoi, Johor Bahru.

The move marks a key step in JETOUR’s localisation strategy and strengthens its long-term presence in Malaysia. The local assembly is taking place at B-Assembly’s 640,000 sq. ft. facility, supported by a workforce of over 100 people. This operation positions Malaysia as a regional hub for both manufacturing and distribution in the ASEAN market.

“This milestone reflects our strong confidence in Malaysia as a strategic market for JETOUR,” said Wen Qiangkang, Vice President of JETOUR International. “It’s an investment in talent, innovation, and mobility for the region.”

JETOUR Malaysia CEO Fu Yong added, “With full-scale local production, we are now delivering vehicles assembled in Malaysia, while strengthening our footprint across ASEAN through this partnership with B-Assembly.”

JETOUR entered the Malaysian market in early 2025 and currently operates more than 20 outlets nationwide. Local assembly is expected to improve delivery lead times and enhance value for customers through increased localisation.

The facility is currently assembling the JETOUR Dashing and VT9. The Dashing targets urban buyers with a coupe-SUV design and smart features, while the VT9 offers a seven-seat layout aimed at families. Deliveries of the locally assembled Dashing began in June 2025, with the VT9 to follow. Over 1,000 units have already been produced.

B-Assembly, a subsidiary of Berjaya Assets Berhad, is JETOUR’s production partner. The facility is equipped with Industry 4.0 technologies and is aligned with national goals for higher-value industrial activity and local job creation.

JETOUR plans to invest RM1.4 billion in Malaysia to introduce more locally assembled models and expand exports to neighbouring countries. The company aims to strengthen its model portfolio and accelerate its expansion across the ASEAN region.
