Honda Malaysia today made a bold entrance into the electric vehicle (EV) market with the official launch of its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the All-New e:N1. Priced at RM149,900 for a limited introductory batch, the launch marks a significant leap forward in the brand’s electrification journey.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and CEO, Mr. Narushi Yazaki, reflected on the company’s longstanding commitment to innovation, saying, “From pioneering the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) in 2004 to introducing e:HEV technology in 2020, Honda has continuously pushed the boundaries of mobility in Malaysia. Today, we take another pivotal step forward with the introduction of our first BEV, the e:N1.”
He added that while Honda’s internal combustion and hybrid models continue to be strong performers in the local market, the arrival of the e:N1 underscores the company’s forward-looking strategy and dedication to offering versatile, future-ready mobility solutions.
Even though it looks exactly like the HR-V, the e:N1, which is underpinned by a different platform than the HR-V, comes with a closed-off front grille and a newly designed white “H” emblem—an exclusive touch denoting Honda’s electrified models. Other exterior highlights include LED headlights and taillights, as well as 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that complete its stylish silhouette.
Under the hood, the e:N1 is powered by a 68.8kWh lithium-ion battery, capable of delivering 150kW of maximum output and 310Nm of torque. It supports AC charging up to 10kW and DC fast charging up to 78kW. Using a DC fast charger, drivers can expect a 30% to 80% recharge in just 50 minutes. The EV offers a maximum range of up to 500km (NEDC), along with three drive modes—Sport, Normal, and ECON—to suit varying preferences and driving conditions.
Inside, the e:N1 offers a high-tech, refined experience. The cabin is illuminated with blue ambient lighting and features a 10.25-inch TFT digital cluster paired with a 15.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The intuitive interface is divided into three sections for ease of use: infotainment (top), vehicle status and audio (middle), and climate control settings (bottom). Wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto are included as standard.
Imported from China, the model also includes a 60:40 split rear seat and 344 litres of boot space, making it suitable for both everyday use and weekend getaways.
As with all Honda vehicles, the e:N1 comes equipped with Honda SENSING, along with additional features such as Blind Spot Information (BSI) and Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM)—the latter being exclusive to this model in the lineup.
Customers can choose from three exterior colours: Platinum White Pearl, Aqua Topaz Metallic, and Urban Gray Pearl.
In a move to enhance the customer journey, Honda Malaysia has digitised the e:N1 booking process through its New Car Pre-Booking portal and the HondaTouch app. Buyers can select their preferred authorised BEV dealership from eight locations nationwide, complete their booking, and receive assistance from a dedicated, trained EV ambassador throughout the entire purchase experience.
The e:N1 is backed by an eight-year/160,000km warranty covering both the battery and electric drive unit. Additionally, customers can opt for the HiP EV insurance package, which offers extended protection for EV-specific risks including damage during public charging, home wall charger incidents, and personal liability related to charger usage.
Honda Malaysia has already delivered nearly 24,000 vehicles in the first four months of 2025—a sign of growing consumer confidence in the brand. The company expects the launch of the e:N1 to further boost its market presence as it accelerates towards a more electrified future.
