Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) is all set to launch the new Land Rover Defender 110 next week on the 21st of October 21 at 11am.

While there are many versions of the all-new Defender globally, the one which we will be getting in Malaysia is the five-door Land Rover Defender 110.

Unfortunately, those who were hoping to see the three-door Defender 90 will have to wait and hope that it will eventually make it to Malaysia.

Coming back to the Defender 110, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia confirmed that it will come with a choice of two powertrain options, with the first being the P300 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 300 PS.

The second option is the P400 MHEV mild hybrid powertrain which comprises the Ingenium 3.0-litre turbocharged 400 PS engine that comes with a 48-volt electric supercharger, a belt-integrated starter motor, and a 48-volt lithium-ion battery.

Both engines are paired with the same eight-speed automatic gearbox by ZF, equipped with a two-speed transfer case.

Among the key features of the new Defender include:

  • 3D Surround Camera
  • Adaptive Dynamics with Electronic Air Suspension
  • Wading depth of 900mm
  • New Pivi Pro infotainment system with Meridian Sound System.

Also worth mentioning is that the Defender’s new purpose-engineered architecture is based on a lightweight aluminium monocoque construction of the new D7x architecture to create the stiffest body structure that the brand has ever produced – three times stiffer than the best body-on-frame designs in the market.

Fitted with a permanent all-wheel drive system, the all-new Land Rover Defender is capable of towing up to 3,500kg, with a maximum static roof load capacity of 300kg.

Last but not the least, the new Defender, like all Land Rover vehicles, will come with the Land Rover Care programme which includes a five-year warranty, five years of free service, and three years of roadside assistance.

While the folks at Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia have not revealed the price yet, they did mention that interested parties can visit JLR showrooms nationwide to place their booking.
