Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has launched its Raya-Raya Campaign, in time for the Aidilfitri festivities. The celebrations are extended to new updates to the Tiguan Allspace Highline, Aftersales Raya Campaign and Volkswagen Insurance Plan (VIP).
Volkswagen Raya-Raya Campaign
From now until 31st May, Volkswagen customers will enjoy a RM1,000 duit raya rebate off selected models. The Passat Elegance comes with free 1-year insurance while the Passat R-Line comes with 1-year free petrol. Both Passat variants come with additional RM3,500 online savings when customers book via the Volkswagen eShowroom.
Tiguan Allspace Highline
The 2021 Tiguan Allspace Highline is now offered with new 18” Nizza alloy wheels, USB-C charging sockets, a new radio update with voice control and new LED taillights with 3D effect.
The Allspace Highline combines a 1.4TSI turbocharged direct injection engine with a 6-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG) to give an impressive output of 150PS and a torque of 250Nm. This SUV also provides fuel consumption reading of approximately 7.3l/100km.
Customers of the Tiguan Allspace Highline will also enjoy a RM1,000 duit raya rebate along with RM3,500 online savings.
Tiguan Allspace R-Line
The 2021 Tiguan Allspace R-Line comes fitted with USB-C data and charging ports, and a radio update that now offers wireless App-Connect for both Android Auto and Apple Car Play.
Aftersales Raya Campaign
The Aftersales Raya campaign is ongoing until the 13th of June, and as part of the celebrations, Volkswagen owners who send in their cars for service will enjoy 20% off Volkswagen genuine engine oil.
Those who spend a minimum of RM1,200 will receive a complimentary car care kit* that consists of wax polish, wax shampoo, glass polish, plastic care, and leather care solutions in 50ml bottles. Owners will also receive complimentary Volkswagen Raya packets*.
A new addition to the Aftersales Raya campaign is the promotion on wiper blades where owners will receive 20% discount on all wiper blade, from now till 30th June and is available at service centres nationwide.
New VIP insurance partner
VPCM is pleased to announce a new insurance partner under the Volkswagen Insurance Plan (VIP), AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad. Affin joins existing partners Allianz General Insurance Berhad, Etiqa General Takaful Berhad and Zurich Takaful General Insurance Berhad.
As a privileged VIP policy holder, benefits include prioritised claim approval, roadside assistance with 24-hour emergency towing, and assurance that repair work is conducted at authorised Volkswagen body and paint centres in accordance to Volkswagen repair standards with only genuine parts used. Additionally, there are no excess fees, no betterment costs and an agreed insured value for vehicles up to 10 years old. This is applicable to all Volkswagen models regardless of vehicle age.
Volkswagen Passengers Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has officially launched the new Passat R-Line.
The sportier big brother of the Passat Elegance, the new Passat R-Line is priced at RM203,411.18 (without sales tax) and is locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan.
Taking its inspiration from the Volkswagen R models, the Passat R-Line completes the current Volkswagen R-Line range in Malaysia.
The sedan is decked with special performance interior and exterior trims that enhances its overall appearance. This includes new R-Line front and rear bumpers, side R-Line badge, chrome trims and 19” Verona alloy wheels.
There is also an all-LED headlight system, front and rear sequential turn signals and a three-wing taillight design completes the overall look.
As for the interior, the R-Line trim is evident on the Nappa carbon-style black leather seats, steering wheel and aluminium sports pedals, and black roof headliner.
The R-Line identity is visible on the seats, leather multi-function steering wheel, complete with shift paddles and ergonomic multifunction buttons; aluminium sports pedals; and aluminium front and rear scuff plates.
The new Passat R-Line is also fitted with ErgoComfort electric seats in Nappa carbon-style black leather seats for optimum comfort. The driver seat is also equipped with memory and massage function.
Under the hood, the Passat R-Line comes with the same 2.0 TSI turbocharged engine as the Passat Elegance, paired with a new and improved 7-speed wet clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG). Together, they produce an output of 190 PS and torque of 320 Nm.
The fuel economy of the Passat R-Line is approximately 6.5l/100 km.
Driving experience is enhanced with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) and Driving Mode Selection that allows for the driver to customise and select up to 15 driving style preferences.
Front seats are 14-way ErgoComfort seats in Nappa carbon-style black leather, while the driver seat also comes with massage and memory function.
A 11.7” Digital Cockpit provides clarity of another level with high-resolution colour display that is like a premium smartphone. Access intelligence at your fingertips a six-view customizable screen with over 30 combination options, including 2D and 3D navigation.
Infotainment is accessible via the Discover Pro system with 9.2” touchscreen. Navigation through the system is convenient with voice control, gesture control and customizable three-view split screen.
App-Connect is available through Android Auto, Mirrorlink using this Type C USB, and wireless connection for Apple Car Play.
Safety features include Rear Cross Traffic Alert with 180-degree detection range of up to 50 metres; and Side Assist which helps detect objects in blind spot areas of up to 70 metres with 110-degree detection range while the vehicle is in motion. Another crucial safety feature is the Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) system to improve traction and reduce understeer.
The Passat R-Line is fitted with the new Tyre Pressure Monitoring System which monitors individual tyres pressure; and manoeuvre braking that automatically applies brakes to prevent collision when it senses an object at speeds of up to 10kmh.
Boot space is an impressive 586-litres for the Passat R-Line, and a contactless Easy Open function uses sensors in the rear to electronically open the boot by detecting a specific movement of the driver’s foot beneath the centre of the rear bumper.
The new Passat R-Line also comes fitted with a complimentary Helix 300W Soundbar worth RM2,400. This Volkswagen Approved Accessory is manufactured by German hi-fi audio specialist, HELIX and is installed in the luggage compartment of the car.
The soundbar is a 5-channel amplifier with an integrated sound processor and subwoofer, which elevates the vehicle’s already-advanced sound system to a higher level of quality and clarity, with precise calibration of sound profiles.
Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today confirmed that the 2020 Passat R-Line, which will be sitting above the recently launched Passat Elegance in the portfolio, will be making its Malaysian debut within the coming months.
Also set to be launched soon is a model which we’ve been anticipating since last year – the Arteon, which will succeed the CC.
According to VPCM, both the Arteon and the Passat R-Line will be sharing the same 2.0 TSI engine and wet-clutch 7-speed DSG gearbox as the Passat Elegance which makes 190 PS and 320 Nm of torque, in front-wheel drive configuration.
Paired to the engine in both cars, is the wet-clutch 7-speed DSG gearbox. Details like the price and exact list of equipment have not been disclosed yet.
There has not been any price indication yet for both models, but all we know for now is that they are all set to be launched within coming months. So, watch this space for more updates.
Now, the announcements about the Passat R-Line and the Arteon were made during a virtual presentation by VPCM earlier today, in which the company introduced Volkswagen’s new brand design and image in Malaysia.
Built on the “Vibrant Power” ethos, the “New Volkswagen” philosophy is a representation of the brand’s fresh new vision and new attitude.
All visuals are now bolder and more colourful, incorporating a vibrancy that is translated to the way the brand is communicated. This also applies to the new brand symbols such as pictograms, typography, colours or layout guidelines.
The symbol and trademark for this change is the new Volkswagen logo, which is more modern and simpler.
The logo has been reduced to its essential elements and presented as a design that is flat and two-dimensional, and more digitally adaptable. Volkswagen also has a sound logo for the first time ever, represented by a female voice.
The first model to feature the brand’s new logo in Malaysia will be the upcoming Golf Mk8, which is expected to arrive next year.
The realignment of Volkswagen’s brand design is one of the world’s largest rebranding campaigns, involving over 171 markets and 10,000 dealerships.
In Malaysia, a total of 21 dealerships will be revamped externally and internally in stages, over the course of the next months.
