Hot on the heels of the recent launch of the BMW M 1000 RR Competition, BMW Motorrad Malaysia has now revealed its Hyper Naked sibling: the new BMW M 1000 R Competition. Designed to bring racetrack intensity to everyday riding, the new model blends superbike-derived performance with a stripped-back, aggressive street presence.
Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, said the new model continues the brand’s mission of offering motorsport DNA in forms that are both thrilling and usable. He added that the M 1000 R Competition delivers “a perfect balance of adrenaline and versatility” for riders who want superbike power in a more street-focused package.

Positioned as a Hyper Naked with genuine superbike roots, the M 1000 R Competition takes much of its foundation from the M 1000 RR. Visually, it announces its intent with a dual-flow LED headlight and an integrated M logo at the air intake.
The swingarm and rear frame finish in Platinum Grey metallic give the motorcycle a sharper and more technical look, while blacked-out structural components and winglets reinforce its motorsport attitude.
At the core is the same 999cc inline four-cylinder engine shared with the M 1000 RR. It produces 154 kW (210 hp) at 13,750 rpm and 113 Nm at 11,000 rpm. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h is achieved in just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 250 km/h. Despite the performance, the engine meets the latest Euro 5+ emissions standards.

Throttle control is enhanced with the M short-stroke throttle, allowing a quicker and more direct response. Dynamic Traction Control has been recalibrated to deliver more precise intervention, especially in the Race riding modes.
The M 1000 R Competition comes equipped with Riding Modes Pro, including Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race and three configurable Race Pro modes. Riders can tailor throttle response, traction control, ABS sensitivity, wheelie control and engine braking.
Standard features also include Cruise Control, Gear Shift Assistant Pro, M lightweight battery, M brakes, M titanium exhaust, M seat and an anti-theft alarm.

The motorcycle is offered exclusively in the M Competition variant finished in Blackstorm metallic with M Motorsport accents. The full M Competition Package includes the M Carbon Package, which adds matte-finish carbon components such as front and rear wheel covers, tank cover, airbox cover, side panels, rear fender, wind deflector and more.
The M Billet Pack provides CNC-milled footrests and detail enhancements, while M Carbon Wheels, M Winglets, an M Endurance chain, M Passenger Kit and M GPS-Laptrigger elevate the bike’s performance credentials further. An anodised swingarm and black fuel tank complete the aggressive aesthetic.

With BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the new BMW M 1000 R Competition starts from RM 3,068 per month based on an estimated 90% financing across a 7-year tenure.
Customers may also opt for BMW Motorrad’s Service Inclusive, Warranty Extension and Premium Engine Oil Inclusive programmes. That being said, the retail price (on the road, without insurance) is RM 219,500.
