Following the recent price estimate reveal for its all-new MGS5 EV SUV, MG Motor Malaysia has announced a special early bird package for visitors at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

The event was officiated by Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics & IoT Institute (MARii), and Deputy CEO Ts. Nizmar Mohd Nazar, alongside MG Motor Malaysia’s senior leaders Emory QiFeng, Managing Director, and Lee Wen Hsiang, Chief Operations Officer of SAIC Motor Malaysia.

With a projected starting price of RM115,000, the fully electric B-segment SUV is now available for pre-booking during the Autoshow. Customers placing a RM500 booking fee will unlock exclusive early bird perks, including bonus savings said to be up to 10 times the booking amount. Additionally, early adopters will receive a complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC home charger (installation not included).

The MGS5 EV will be offered in two trim levels – COM and LUX. Buyers can choose between a 49kWh or 62kWh battery in the COM variant, providing WLTP-rated ranges of up to 340km and 430km respectively. The LUX variant comes standard with the 62kWh battery and also offers 430km of range. All versions deliver 170PS and 250Nm of torque through a rear-wheel drive (RWD) layout – a unique feature in its class.

While both variants support 7kW AC charging, the LUX trim also boasts 150kW DC fast charging capability, allowing a 10–80% recharge in just 26 minutes. Additional LUX features include 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, perforated leather-fabric seats, heated leather steering wheel, wireless charging pad, six-speaker audio system, powered tailgate, and a 360-degree camera system.

Standard across the range are LED headlights with racing flag-style daytime running lights, MG’s signature Arch Taillights, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen with voice control, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG’s iSMART connectivity suite. Luggage space is generous, with up to 1,441 litres available including underfloor storage.

The EV’s design integrates an ultra-thin horizontal battery structure to lower the centre of gravity while maximizing cabin space. Its adaptive pressure control system is designed to enhance battery durability and safety by limiting cell expansion.

“Our early bird campaign is a thank-you gesture to Malaysian drivers ready to embrace electric mobility,” said Emory QiFeng. “With flexible battery options across both COM and LUX variants, the MGS5 EV offers excellent value and real-world practicality.”

The MGS5 EV headlines MG’s booth at the Malaysia Autoshow, alongside the MG5, MG4, MG HS, and the eye-catching MG Cyberster – the world’s first all-electric convertible sports car. Autoshow visitors can test drive the MGS5 EV for the first time ahead of its official pricing announcement, along with other MG models.

Customers booking the MG Cyberster during the event will receive a one-year unlimited JomCharge plan with Auto Charge functionality, a complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC charger (installation not included), and an exclusive MG Cyberster diecast collectible (upon registration).
