Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recently introduced the EQS 53 4MATIC+ for those who feel that the previously launched EQS 450 and EQS 500 are not powerful enough.
Equipped with a powerful 400-volt battery manufactured using the latest lithium-ion technology, the AMG EQS comes with a driving range of up to 571 km. The car can be charged in 11 hours and 15 minutes using an AC charger, while a DC fast charger takes only 31 minutes to charge it from 10% to 80%.
Priced at RM798,888 on the road without insurance, the new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ is powered by two electric motors. The electric powertrain with one motor each at the front and rear axles has fully-variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, which optimally transmits the drive power to the asphalt in all driving conditions.
Thanks to the powertrain, the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ achieves a maximum total output of 658 hp, with a maximum motor torque of 950 Nm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and its maximum speed is limited to 220 km/h.
With the included AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package, the maximum output increases to up to 761 hp in RACE START mode with boost function.
The maximum motor torque is then up to 1,020 Nm. In this case, the AMG EQS accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds with a battery charge level of at least 75 percent. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
On the exterior, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 comes with DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps as standard, as well as the AMG-specific black panel grille with hot-stamped vertical struts in chrome, an integrated Mercedes star, and “AMG” lettering.
The distinctive design idiom continues in the front bumper, which is painted in the vehicle colour. This is contrasted by the front apron in the hallmark AMG A-wing design, which is painted in high-gloss black and features chrome trim.
With the Night Package, the exterior of the AMG EQS takes on an even more expressive look having numerous features in a black or black chrome finish. Also included is 21-inch AMG cross-spoke light-alloy wheels, the red-painted brake callipers with black “AMG” lettering, as well as AIRMATIC air suspension.
The AMG EQS is also equipped with Driving Assistance Plus Package which includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, Active Lane Keeping Assist, rear sensors for the lane departure assistant, Active Steering Assist, evasive manoeuvre support, and PRE-SAFE Impulse Side.
The Parking Package with Remote Parking Assist comes with Active Parking Assist, 360-degree camera, and pre-installation for Remote Parking Assist. For further ease of mind, the vehicle has the URBAN GUARD vehicle protection Plus featuring Anti-theft alarm system and Interior monitoring system. The AMG EQS is equipped with rear-axle steering as well.
The interior is also dominated by style-defining AMG features. Here the AMG EQS offers a seat upholstery in nappa leather with AMG-specific seat graphics.
The AMG steering wheel has a combination of carbon fibre and MICROCUT microfiber providing a good grip while driving. It is paired with AMG steering wheel buttons and silver-coloured aluminium shift paddles for setting various recuperation levels which further emphasises the cabin sportiness.
The AMG EQS also comes with flex bottle holder, EASY-PACK load compartment cover, and Interior Light package. The KEYLESS-GO comfort package features HANDS-FREE ACCESS and KEYLESS-GO functionalities providing convenience when on the go.
Last but not least, the AMG EQS is equipped with the innovative MBUX Hyperscreen. This large, curved screen unit extends from A-pillar to A-pillar.
