Honda Malaysia has confirmed plans to introduce six new models in 2026, as announced by Managing Director and CEO Narushi Yazaki at the company’s annual media gathering yesterday. The new additions are aimed at supporting a baseline sales target of 60,000 units for the year.
While the company did not officially disclose the full lineup, several hints provide insight into what’s likely coming. Chief among them is the all-new Honda Prelude, teased via social media late last year. The hybrid sports coupe, featuring Honda’s S+ Shift system, is expected to arrive later in 2026, offering enthusiasts a fresh addition to the local market.

Another potential newcomer is the Honda Super-One, the compact kei-sized EV earmarked for ASEAN markets, including Malaysia. The hatchback was spotted testing locally in November, suggesting its introduction is plausible. However, the government’s RM250,000 minimum price cap on new CBU EVs may affect its entry, leaving some uncertainty.
Beyond these, Honda Malaysia appears focused on expanding its e:HEV hybrid offerings. Currently, all models except the WR-V carry the e:HEV powertrain, but only in range-topping RS variants.

The company is expected to launch lower-priced e:HEV variants based on E or V trims for models including the City, City Hatchback, HR-V, Civic, and CR-V, making hybrid technology more accessible.
Other potential updates include minor refreshes for the CR-V and WR-V, both of which debuted in 2023 and are due for mid-cycle enhancements. Speculation also suggests the StepWgn e:HEV MPV or the Elevate SUV could be among the six models, though these remain less likely compared to updates to existing models.

For the year ahead, Honda Malaysia has set a conservative sales target of 60,000 units, down from 72,301 units sold in 2025. The reduction aligns with the Malaysian Automotive Association’s projection of a 3.8% decline in total industry volume (TIV) to 790,000 units, as well as intensifying competition in key segments such as the HR-V and CR-V.
With a mix of new launches, hybrid expansions, and mid-cycle updates, 2026 promises to be a dynamic year for Honda fans in Malaysia.
